BUSINESS SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR: SEVERN, MD
Who Staffing is looking for a Business Systems Administrator for a full-time, direct hire opportunity with our client in Severn, MD.
Job Summary:
The Business Systems Administrator will use analysis and design techniques to address business needs. This role will use understanding of organizational processes and requirements to implement and support new and existing systems that align with business goals. Business Systems Administrator must be focused on customer service, working collaboratively across the organization, and with external software vendors, and have a strong understanding of business and program operations.
Essential Functions:
- Support the documentation and creation of data and system workflows to include data-mapping, diagrams, and flowcharts to produce positive organizational outcomes
- Develop detailed data maps illustrating the relationship between different data sources and destinations; ensure alignment between business and technical aspects
- Collaborate with system vendors to translate requirements into functional solutions; create and maintain a comprehensive data dictionary to standardize terms and definitions
- Create and manage Microsoft SQL Server (MS SQL) and Azure SQL relational database management system (RDBMS)
- Write and document automated Extract Transform, Load (ETL) processes and scripts to automate the integration and synchronization of application data across the organization
- Design, document and implement an organizational data schema
- Develop and maintain an organizational data repository for cross system reporting
- Collaborate with stakeholders to assess organizational needs, identify areas of improvement and document technical requirements
- Assess and document the impact of system changes to data workflows and end user interface
- Work collaboratively with the Director of IT, Business Systems Team Leader and IT Project Managers to ensure optimization of new and existing legacy business systems; manager data transfer for new system implementations
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency, acquire input/feedback from key stakeholders, and provide recommendations to IT Leadership.
- Serve as escalation point for Business Systems Team for complex issue support including bug identification and root cause analysis
Other Functions:
- Act as a back up to the Data & Reporting Manager to ensure business continuity.
- Collaborate in the periodic system evaluation to determine suitability
- Provide support for special IT related projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- HS diploma or GED and a minimum of three plus years business systems implementation with experience in data storage best practices, data privacy required
- Bachelor’s degree in business or technology strongly preferred
- Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle
- Familiarity with Agile Methodology
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including Office and Power Platform
- Proficiency in writing SQL queries of basic to medium complexity
- Proficiency with structured and unstructured data management principles such as SQL and JSON.
- Experience with ETL tools like SSIS
- Experience supporting application integration via REST API, flat-file or SFTP
- Experience with coding or scripting languages such as PowerShell, C#, Python or others.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand and explain complex concepts
- Able to break down complex problems, identify root cause and develop logical solutions
- Strong project management and documentation skills required
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively among diverse personalities and employee populations
- Ability to exercise initiative, think creatively in the improvement of processes to drive results
- Ability to work well and adapt under pressure in an ever-changing environment; adhere to deadlines; foster a sense of urgency to do what it takes to get the job done
