Layman Distributing is seeking a proactive and reliable IT Manager to join our team. In this role, you will help manage and maintain our IT systems, ensuring everything is running smoothly and securely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technology Management: Assist in the development and implementation of technology strategies that support company objectives.
- System Maintenance: Help maintain and update all IT systems, including servers, network equipment, phone systems, ERP software, mobile apps, mobile devices, and warehouse picking devices to ensure they remain functional and secure.
- Workstation Setup: Set up new user accounts, workstations, and other IT hardware/software to ensure smooth onboarding and productivity for employees.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support to staff, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues to ensure minimal downtime.
- Product Evaluation: Research and recommend new IT tools, software, and services that could improve productivity and enhance business operations.
- Cybersecurity: Assist in identifying and addressing potential security risks to keep our systems and data safe.
- Backups & Redundancy: Support backup processes and ensure redundancy strategies are in place to protect data and reduce downtime in case of system failures.
- Vendor Coordination: Work with third-party vendors and service providers to ensure timely and efficient delivery of IT products and services.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of VMWare, Exchange, Active Directory, Cisco Meraki, and Microsoft Office (especially Excel, including VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
- Familiarity with business analytics/reporting
- Familiarity with web CMS (WordPress or similar)
- AS400 experience is a bonus, but not required.
- Solid understanding of networking and IT security practices.
- Experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Familiarity with warehouse/distribution ERP systems is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to professionally assist others with technical issues.
Required Education & Experience:
- Associate’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in higher-level IT support/supervision or a similar role.
- Basic certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft) are a plus but not required.
Salary Range: $45,000-$55,000 DOE
