System Administrator – Financial Technology
Our client is seeking a System Administrator to support and maintain their high-performance trading and analytics platform. This role is crucial for ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of their infrastructure while working closely with engineering, operations, and support teams.
Key Responsibilities
- System Maintenance & Support: Manage and monitor Linux-based servers, ensuring uptime and performance
- Automation & Scripting: Leverage tools like Bash, Python, and Ansible to automate system processes.
- Security & Compliance: Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards
- Cloud & On-Premise Management: Support cloud-based and co-located infrastructure
- Incident Response & Troubleshooting: Quickly diagnose and resolve system issues to minimize downtime
- Collaboration: Work closely with DevOps, engineering, and trading teams to optimize system performance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in system administration, preferably in a trading or financial services environment
- Strong knowledge of Linux and automation tools
- Experience with cloud platforms and virtualization technologies
- Scripting proficiency in Bash, Python, or PowerShell
- Networking and security fundamentals, including firewalls and VPNs
- Familiarity with monitoring tools
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- This is an onsite position working at the client’s Chicago office.
