Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in network administration and a minimum of three years’ experience designing large complex high-performance networks with five years preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; CCNA/CCNP certification a plus.
Required Knowledge Skills And Abilities
Experience and advanced knowledge of the TCP/IP model, IP protocols, and IP subnetting. Advanced knowledge of routing & routing protocols (EIGRP, BGP, OSPF), VLANs, trunking, NAT, QoS, Access control list (ACL), and WAN technologies (Metro-E, DMVPN). Extensive experience configuring Cisco routers and switches, VPN, ASA, IDS/IPS, DMVPN. Advanced knowledge and experience configuring wireless and wireless controllers (Cisco) and Meraki wireless and Security appliances. Must have project management skills, the ability to multitask, excellent communication skills (verbal & written), ability to delegate tasks, provide troubleshooting and problem tracking for network related issues, perform service request management, ability to build and maintain documentation and manage helpdesk incidents for network related issues. Understanding of web filtering appliances and troubleshooting. Knowledge of cellular modem software and management. Proficient knowledge in Word, Excel, Access, Visio, PowerPoint, Windows (all versions), and other software and utilities used to track, maintain, and monitor network and server systems. Advanced knowledge and experience with network monitoring and alerting software.
Current valid driver's license and good driving record required. Based on the Virginia DMV point system, record must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months. Out of state driving records must be obtained by the applicant and presented at time of interview. Record must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of interview date.

This position is also subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice’s “Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy” and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent criminal background check. Must be a US citizen or have been a lawful resident of the US for the past ten consecutive years.
Duties
Provide project management for helpdesk issues, service request, and projects as assigned. Establishes, plans, and coordinates work efforts. Provides technical support to project team members. Handles application features and technical designs. Designs and implements the components required for complex network projects. Provides technical direction in one or more areas for the design, development and implementation of the network infrastructure including wireless, routing and routing protocols, NAT, QoS, ACL, firewalls, remote access and VoIP.
Installs, configures, and maintains organization’s network. Reviews, plans, and evaluates network systems. Supports, monitors, tests, and troubleshoots hardware and software problems pertaining to LAN/WAN. Recommends and schedules repairs. Provides end user support for all LAN-based applications. Troubleshoots network systems and recommends improvements to the network. Provides documentation / project tracking and management reporting. Provides tactical and strategic input on overall network planning and related projects. Analyzes network security and recommends, develops, and deploys security measures to protect information against unauthorized intrusion, modification, or loss.
Analyzes WAN functions of organizations. Works to develop, improve, maintain, and implement WAN. Installs, troubleshoots, repairs and maintains WAN equipment. Provides reports, completes requests for new service, determines methodology for installing new service, and determines appropriateness of moderate equipment changes or modifications, test links, coordinates the install of communication circuits and campus cabling of copper and fiber infrastructure.
Provides support to end users on a variety of issues. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems. Responds to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support. Tracks and monitors the problem to ensure a timely resolution.
Maintains and manages internet web filter, includes designing rules, appliance management, daily operation and support, troubleshooting.
Manages the cellular mobility VPN software and hardware.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure environments.
Perform Other Work As Required.
