Position Overview: We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Chief Technology Officer (CTO) with expertise in Python to oversee and evolve our technological strategy, product development, and technical architecture. As the CTO, you will collaborate closely with senior leadership to drive our technical vision and execution while managing a talented team of engineers. You will be responsible for setting the direction of our technology stack, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance across all systems, and continuously optimizing our codebase.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Strategy: Lead and scale the engineering team, setting both short-term and long-term technical goals. Develop and implement the overall technology strategy in alignment with business objectives.
- Technical Oversight: Architect and oversee the development of our technology stack, with a strong focus on Python-based systems and frameworks. Ensure that all engineering solutions are scalable, maintainable, and efficient.
- Innovation: Stay on top of industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously innovate and incorporate cutting-edge tools and practices into our development processes.
- Team Development: Mentor and guide engineering managers and senior developers. Foster a culture of collaboration, growth, and continuous learning across the technical team.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, design, and business leaders to align technical efforts with company goals and customer needs. Translate complex technical challenges into clear, actionable solutions for non-technical stakeholders.
- Technical Debt Management: Oversee the reduction of technical debt by refactoring, updating legacy systems, and ensuring robust documentation of the codebase.
- Risk Management & Security: Ensure that all systems adhere to the highest standards of security, data protection, and compliance requirements.
- Product Development: Collaborate on the product development roadmap, providing insight into the feasibility of new features and system updates.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 8+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3+ years in an executive leadership role as a CTO, VP of Engineering, or similar.
- Python Expertise: Strong expertise in Python, including frameworks like Django, Flask, or FastAPI, and experience with building and maintaining large-scale systems.
- Architecture & Systems Design: Proven experience in designing and architecting large-scale, distributed systems, with an emphasis on Python and cloud-based technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Leadership: Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams and building high-performing engineering organizations.
- Cloud Technologies: Proficiency with cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and microservices architecture.
- DevOps & CI/CD: Strong understanding of DevOps principles, continuous integration, and deployment pipelines.
- Problem Solving: Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience with machine learning or data science initiatives.
- Familiarity with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
