Akkodis is seeking a Systems Administrator for one of our clients located in Denton, TX.
Rate Range: $45.00/hour to $54.00/hour; the rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains and improves delivery systems availability, functionality, and performance for multiple systems.
- Provides leadership for major system modifications and installations.
- Applies appropriate security measures.
- Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems, replaces defective components when necessary.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
- Operate consoles to monitor the performance of computer systems and networks, and to coordinate computer network access and use.
- Design, configure, and test computer hardware, networking software and operating system software.
- Adheres to safe work practices and contributes to the evolution of the health, safety, and environmental program and culture.
Experience and Education
- Requires 5 years of VMware, Storage and Windows Server experience.
- Preferred: VMware, NetApp and EMC certifications.
- Preferred: 5 years in server hardware maintenance and support.
- Bachelor’s Degree required in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related field.
Knowledge/Skills
- Data Storage Solutions knowledge and administration (NetApp, EMC preferred).
- Server/Storage hardware familiarity (such asDell, HP, EMC, NetApp hardware, etc).
- Windows Server Concepts and knowledge.
- VMware Administration.
- High proficiency with vSphere, vSAN, and other VMware products and platforms.
- Must be adept at network engineering, with working knowledge of firewalls, servers, networks, and operating systems.
- Citrix App and Desktop Virtualization.
- General Systems Administration.
- Excellent verbal and oral communication.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- VMware VCA, VCP – preferred.
- NetApp NCSA, NCDA, NCSE – preferred.
- EMC Data Storage Systems Administration Specialist/Expert – preferred.
- Citrix CCP-V, CCA-V – preferred.
