Role Purpose
You will be responsible for leading the Advisory business unit in the Americas with sales and revenue accountability of $USD10m+ (in 2025) and over 30 employees and contractors. The scope of this work includes our Consulting, Programs and Training and Improvement Services (TIS).
You will be responsible for managing key client relationships, and working closely with the regional business, commercial and marketing leaders to oversee delivery and a consistent NPS improvement and client satisfaction.
You have overall responsibility for the effective and efficient running of internal operations of the Advisory team in your region and ensuring the business is on a solid footing operationally while being able to address and overcome growth-related challenges in terms of staffing, technology, financial planning and investment to deliver our ambitious targets as part of our full potential plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support with the development and implementation of an interconnected Advisory strategy and business plan which is aligned with the regional development initiative, overall business vision and full potential plan.
- Agree and drive the implementation of business plans, workforce plans and budgets to deliver the budget for the Advisory business unit in the Americas.
- Deliver the strategy into actionable goals, sales and revenue to ensure delivery against the performance and growth ambitions of the Americas business.
- Monitor the marketplace and analyse opportunities, providing analysis and stay well connected with clients to ensure market needs are incorporated into business plans.
- Act to acquire new clients, build and grow relationships with existing clients. This includes (a) responsibility for the Advisory sales goals and (b) independent closure of your own business opportunities and (c) collaboration across the business including relevant non-functional areas.
- Role model and demonstrate a relentless client focus for our key global accounts and demonstrate the importance and value of clients who have multi-year, multi service contracts with us for whom we are a trusted partner.
- Be the custodian of the Advisory client experience and monitor the NPS results for continuous improvement and foster a client centric culture with the Advisory remit, end to end regionally and supporting the wider organization.
- Monitor and report on business KPIs ensuring alignment across all regions, ensure client loyalty and satisfaction and employee engagement are key facets of measuring success and effectiveness.
- Analyse internal operations and sales / pricing performance and identify areas of improvement to ensure that the structure, systems, processes and procedures are coordinated and effective to meet client, budget and commercial needs aligned with current and future needs.
- Champion and promote technical innovation, utilise and develop standardised product development, client solutions and service excellence to improve our competitive position and key selling point capabilities.
- Energize the team and broader organisation, role model LRQA behaviours to drive a customer centric, performance orientated, commercially accountable organisational culture.
- Lead, manage and develop team members to build capacity and capability through recruitment, performance management, talent and succession planning, training and development to build and sustain high performers. Drive and ensure direct reports do the same.
- Responsible for driving employee engagement within business unit to ensure we create and maintain a positive, can-do culture with a particular focus on the well-being and development of our colleagues.
- Ensure communication to key stakeholders, foster teamwork and strive to maintain an environment of openness and trust, facilitating problem solving to address obstacles and ensure agreement on resolutions.
- Identify and present opportunities to strengthen Advisory through merger, acquisition and/or joint venture activity.
- Play an active role on the Advisory Leadership Team and Regional Leadership Team, working with colleagues to ensure all business objectives are met.
- Pursue continuous personal development and maintain a high degree of discipline, industry knowledge and awareness.
Requirement:
- Educated to degree level in an appropriate subject relevant to the business. An MBA is preferred.
- Has a proven track record of selling and supporting client accounts, specifically to support teams who are managing and rolling out large multi-country, multi-year and multi-service programs. Ensuring and focusing on client satisfaction and the clear development of services and delivery against an agreed scope.
- Is exceptionally well organized, a ruthless prioritized with high attention to detail.
- Can demonstrate a strong commercial acumen with recent examples of developing and delivering successful value propositions for global clients/brands as part of the sales team
- Demonstrable client facing sales and delivery experience, with a history of success
- Ability to communicate fluently in English and a minimum of one other language widely used in your base region.
- Able to travel frequently, to regional office and client locations
- Experienced in preparing and delivering proposal presentations, with recent examples.
- Experience in managing multi product proposals.
- Demonstrable experience working proactively and collaboratively across diverse teams to achieve growth ambitions.
- Knowledge of standard IT programmes, including Salesforce and comfortable in using proprietary software.
- Sector specific experience in one of our core sectors, either from sales focus or from a previous role inside the sector.
