Position purpose
The System Administrator will provide advanced technical support and administration of Enterprise-class storage, security, network, communication, and virtualization environments as well as hold vendor specific certifications. This resource will also lead system administrator functions including documentation of best practices and processes to support the business. Serve as subject matter experts throughout the enterprise on information systems by providing technical expertise. Enhance team productivity by providing operations support for the IT infrastructure and leveraging IT resources. Insert supporting Southeast division infrastructure.
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

- Responsible for system administration of major platform information operating systems.
- Specializes in Windows, Virtualization technologies, Data Network, and/or Storage Area Network systems.
- Designs and builds working models of complex and/or new elements of an information system performing development, execution, and review of test plans and results.
- Trains colleagues on current information system technologies and requirements related to administration and operations.
- Creates process improvements and controls.
- Acts as administrator for active directory (AD), domain name service (DNS) and SAN whether physical or virtual.
- Acts as administrator for the server environment (virtual/bare metal).
- Coordinates incident response/disaster recovery activities related to information systems which include designing, testing, and maintaining systems protocols.
- Performs and documents system back-up and recovery.
- Coordinates monitoring and maintenance of information systems, including tracking errors and data movements; Configuring software and hardware; Maintaining optimum system capacity levels; Maintaining consistent system standards.
- Synchronizes with vendors the documentation and application of solutions to information system problems.
- Assists in the resolution of critical information system problems and complaints.
- Provide guidance and direction to junior system administrators and be a subject matter expert (SME) resource for enterprise systems/applications.
- Ensure users receive support to resolve issues and provide solutions to repetitive issues.
- Standardize and provide oversight of server build and interact with Cybersecurity team to deploy hardened images.
- Use scripting methods to provide automation of tasks (such as PowerShell).
- Monitor and inspect system equipment/ make recommendations and suggestions for improvement if necessary.
- By position, may coordinate work activities and assign duties on a project basis.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- Work closely with the management to gather input, diagnose root causes, and resolve problems
- Document processes to standardize and streamline end user experience.
- Proactively communicate with management throughout the problem resolution process.
- Interface with executives, engineers, and vendor technical support resources.
- Maintain hybrid server infrastructure and assist in root cause analysis of any system issues.
- Assist in developing a disaster recovery plan, assist in testing plan and update documentation as needed
Qualifications
Qualifications
Education - College or Vocational Graduate or Commensurate Experience.
- Pursuit of certification at the systems administration level from the following:
- Microsoft
- Vmware
- Cisco
- Nutanix
Experience: Four (4) + years providing advanced hardware and software technical support.

- Experience supporting networking, security, virtualization, storage software and hardware products, including:
- Experience supporting or troubleshooting in an IT environment (sever, application, or infrastructure).
- Solid understanding of Windows Server Products, Unix, and Linux operating systems.
- Proven ability to diagnose, resolve, and document technical support issues.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Positive, customer-centric approach.
- Working experience in systems administration or internal IT support.
- Must have transportation.
