We are seeking a dedicated Systems Administrator I for a time-limited position. In this role, you will utilize your experience in systems administration across various hardware and software platforms to manage and optimize system performance within our organization. You will be responsible for configuring, testing, installing, and monitoring mid-range servers, ensuring their effective operation and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
System Administration: Apply your expertise to perform a full range of system administration functions, including configuring, testing, installing, and monitoring mid-range servers and associated hardware and software operating systems.
Performance Monitoring: Regularly monitor server performance to ensure optimal operation. Identify and address potential issues to maintain system stability and efficiency.
Documentation & Updates: Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation on server configurations, performance, and changes. Coordinate with vendors to manage licenses and implement updates as needed.
Backup & Recovery: Perform routine backups and recovery operations on assigned servers to safeguard data and ensure business continuity.
Enhancements & Recommendations: Evaluate current systems and make recommendations for improvements. Implement agreed-upon enhancements to improve system functionality and performance.
Leadership & Coordination: Potentially lead a team of first-level staff, providing direction and oversight. Take ownership of significant components of large projects or system enhancements, working with a high degree of independence.
