Markesman Group is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our team in the Annapolis Junction/Linthicum area. The successful candidate will be responsible for configuring, optimizing, and maintaining our network infrastructure, ensuring its reliability, security, and performance. The Senior Network Engineer will play a critical role in developing and implementing network backup and recovery procedures, diagnosing connectivity issues, monitoring network capacity and performance, and patching vulnerabilities to safeguard information.
Core Tasks:

Configuration and Optimization: Configure and optimize network hubs, routers, and switches to ensure efficient and effective network operation.

Backup and Recovery: Develop and implement network backup and recovery procedures to safeguard against data loss and ensure business continuity.

Connectivity Diagnostics: Diagnose network connectivity problems and implement solutions to resolve issues promptly.

Operating System Maintenance: Install and maintain network infrastructure device operating system software to ensure optimal performance and security.

Hardware Installation: Install or replace network hubs, routers, and switches as necessary to expand or upgrade network infrastructure.

Performance Monitoring: Monitor network capacity and performance, identifying and addressing potential bottlenecks or performance issues.

Security Patching: Patch network vulnerabilities to protect against external threats and ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information.

Infrastructure Testing: Test and maintain network infrastructure, including software and hardware devices, to ensure reliability and functionality.
Requirements:
- Master's degree and 10 years of experience, or Bachelor's degree and 12 years of experience, or High school diploma and 15 years of experience as a Network Engineer.
- Extensive experience with Cisco IOS and PAN-OS, with the ability to configure and manage network devices effectively.
- Demonstrated expertise in cyber/IT-related fields with a strong focus on attention to detail, customer service, oral and written communication, and problem-solving.
- Active TS/SCI security clearance with full scope polygraph.
- Active DoD IAT Level III certification (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, GCIH, GCED, CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA).
- Active Cisco certification, demonstrating proficiency in Cisco networking technologies and solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with other networking technologies and vendors, such as Juniper, Arista, or Palo Alto Networks.
- Familiarity with network automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ansible).
- Experience in designing and implementing secure network architectures and solutions.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to resolve complex network issues efficiently.
