Position Summary
As a Software Engineer IV, you will be part of an Agile Scrum team and directly contribute to the creation and maintenance of products that support our business operations. You will participate in Sprint activities, such as planning, grooming, and daily standups to deliver on commitments, continuously improve processes, and drive positive change.
You will apply your skills in software development to help the team produce quality, on-time deliverables and apply root cause analysis to track down story bugs and production issues. With an eye for quality and attention to detail, you will help us build reliable, fault-tolerant, and extensible applications backed by unit testing and test automation.
Additionally, you will work directly with Team Leads, Business Users, Product Owners, Functional Analysts, and other Engineers to build new projects and support existing applications.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable as a technical lead on their scrum team and will serve as a technical partner to our business customers. Highly skilled in software development and design patterns, they are focused on creating solutions that align with the strategic technical vision and best meet the needs of stakeholders. They will serve as a subject matter expert for their respective teams, products, and technology stacks, mentor junior team members, and include them in designs to create the best solution possible. Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, they will thrive on complex challenges and have excellent time management skills, allowing them to multitask various projects.
About The Team
You'll be joining our team that's developing a new digital platform to help homeowners connect more deeply with their homes. We're focused on making homeownership easier and more enjoyable by introducing features like AI assistance, smart home integrations, and mortgage management tools. You'll collaborate closely with colleagues in Product Management, UX/UI Design, Marketing, and other departments to create a platform that truly benefits our users, enhances customer satisfaction, and builds brand loyalty.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the development of backend services and integrations using .NET technologies for our new digital platform.
- Serve as a technical lead and liaison to business customers and other tech teams.
- Turn functional requirements into actionable designs.
- Create designs aligning strategic goals across products and teams that are self-healing and fault-tolerant.
- Serve as a mentor and develop understanding through hands-on technical coaching.
- Refine standards and best practices and ensure they are followed by working with management and directly with the team through peer reviews.
- Emphasize working software over gold-plated solutions.
- Provide root cause analysis for defects and production issues.
- Strive to produce high-quality, on-time software by utilizing unit tests and partnering with QA to meet acceptance criteria.
- Identify dependencies on other groups and work with them to create a common solution understanding.
- Participate in the full SDLC from requirements gathering to testing and delivery.
- Create and promote a collaborative environment fostering understanding of mutual goals.
- Nurture an innovative culture and mindset among the team.
Primary Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 7+ years of Software Development experience.
- Experience with project tracking software, such as Jira, and Agile Methodology.
- Experience with source control systems and CI/CD pipelines.
- Extensive experience with backend development using .NET Framework and .NET Core.
- Experience with RESTful API design and development.

- Excellent analytical skills. Able to weigh pros and cons of design choices and make suggestions to Management, Product Owners, and Team Members.
- Can adapt quickly to changing processes and technologies.
- Experience with cloud platforms like Azure or AWS.
