Position: Principal Software Engineer
Location: Hybrid in West Palm Beach/Atlanta - onsite 2-3X a week
Duration: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: $130k-150k
FilterBuy, a leader in the air quality and manufacturing world, is seeking an experienced Principal Software Engineer that can help drive development teams on web application design and development while being a hands-on developer that can lead by example. The Principal Software Engineer, reporting to the VP of Engineering, will work closely with both on and offshore teams, within various projects ranging from internal ERP based systems, customer facing e-commerce sites, and custom integrations with third party retailers. This position is a hybrid role at either our Atlanta or West Palm Beach offices.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Be a key player in a cross-functional team to design and implement new features and functionalities for our ecommerce platform
- Maintain and enhance our existing custom-built front-end website and ERP system, ensuring optimal performance, stability, and scalability
- Research and implement modern application architectures for reduced complexity and application robustness
- Develop and deploy new applications and services in AWS infrastructure
- Collaborate with testing teams to ensure high-quality code is delivered on time
- Mentor junior development team members and lead by example
- Write and review clean, well-documented, and efficient code
- Continuously learn and stay up to date with the latest technologies and frameworks
- Communicate effectively and collaborate with our team.

Required skills and qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience leading teams in web application development and operational engineering activities
- Fluency with Python/Django web frameworks, Celery, and PostGres databases
- Expertise in NodeJS, React/Next frameworks, and frontend web application best practices
- Strong knowledge of Amazon Web Services, including S3, ECS, EC2, RDS, Cloudwatch, and CodeBuild
- Proficiency with Github, Docker, and common CI/CD patterns for both front and backend systems
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to change
Preferred skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in computer science, engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Availability to support with production issues as they arise
- Ability to work hybrid setting at our West Palm Beach or Atlanta office
