DescriptionOracle NACE is establishing a new delivery practice dedicated to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) DevSecOPS and here's your chance to work as a Principal Cloud Architect on this newly formed team, with high visibility and significant customer impact. The OCI DevSecOPS team develops and delivers OCI service/solution to customers, partners, and internal Oracle employees and is hiring a senior lead/evangelist with deep knowledge of DevSecOps practices, including Infrastructure-as-code, continuous integration and automated deployment, and monitoring and logging. This role is a mix of being a developer, a technical architect, and an evangelist. In this role, you will actively engage with the architect team and deliver solution, design sample code/applications, create hands-on demos, write technical blogs, and present at internal/external forums.
We are seeking a deeply technical individual to join our team where they will both lead and contribute to customer focused projects that involve cloud security technologies a large portion of the work will also involve adjacencies including securing and configuring tenancies, networking, encryption and key or Certificate Management, Web Application Firewalls, SIEM technologies, vulnerability scanning, Serverless code development & deployments, Kubernetes etc. In addition to interacting directly with customers the role involves regular work with the development organization to drive product improvements and innovations.
The qualified candidate will have excellent communication skills, deep technical knowledge of DevSecOps practices and related technologies, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand modules. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have software development, evangelism, training, instructional design, or technical documentation experience. Above all, you will have a passion for learning and sharing it with a wider audience.
Individual should possess a deep knowledge in following areas:
- Configuration of a secure tenancy in OCI, AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Use and configuration of services such as OCI Cloud Guard, AWS Control Tower, Azure Security Center
- Use and configuration of SIEM systems such as Splunk, QRadar, or LogRhythm, DataDog
- Deep Linux knowledge and certification such as Red Hat Linux certification
- REST API, JSON, Data handling
- MFA and strong authentication with understanding of Identity management / governance, and provisioning
Responsibilities
- Deliver solutioning focused on DevSecOps technologies to customers, partners, and Oracle employees
- Collaborate with product development and product management teams to create OCI technical solution reference architecture/content, hands-on-labs exercises and guided learning solutions
- Participate in Pre-Sales and Post Sales discussions with enterprise cloud architects help design solution to fit customer requirements
- Build relationships with OCI product development teams to understand roadmaps and plan for new solution architecture and design patterns
- Write technical blogs and present Oracle Cloud Infrastructure DevSecOps services at industry events.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related technical field or equivalent practical experience
- Experience with Secure coding practices, Network security, SSL/TLS, Encryption, Key Management, SIEM deployment
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in progressively responsible information technology including.
- 5+ years of experience in developing, implementing, or architecting information systems
- 2+ years’ experience in managing the security aspect of cloud deployments
- Experience with at least one of the following development environments/languages: Java / J2EE, Python, JavaScript, C#, c/C++
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep technical domain knowledge in one or more of the following: cloud-native application development, event-driven architectures, Infrastructure-as-code, continuous integration and deployment, container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with continuous integration tools (e.g. Jenkins)
- Hands-on familiarity with Infrastructure-as-code technologies (e.g. Terraform)
- Experience with configuration management platforms (e.g. Chef, Puppet, Salt, or Ansible)
- Experience with cloud monitoring and management (Application Performance Management, Network Performance Management, Infrastructure Monitoring, Log Analytics, Tracing, etc.).
- Strong scripting skills (e.g. PowerShell, Python, Bash, Ruby, Go, etc.)
- Strong practical application development experience on Linux and Windows-based systems
- Knowledge and/or hands-on experience with OCI, including current OCI Certifications (e.g. DevOPS, Operations)
- Coding experience in one or more of the following languages, Java, .Net, Python, or PHP
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with OCI, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud highly desired

Partners with customers, sales, engineering and product teams to design, demonstrate and deploy Oracle Cloud architectures that address customer business problems. Drives Oracle Cloud customer consumption by accelerating the adoption of Oracle cloud services including discovery, design and deployment.
Engages with strategic customers, builds leadership relationships at multiple levels within organizations in order to design and implement solutions. Works directly with customers to gather requirements, develop architectures and translates business needs into solutions. May implement solutions and ensure successful deployments through code development and scripting. Displays product/application understanding through highly customized presentation demonstrations to customers, and at conferences, and events. Supports customer from Proof of Concept (POC) through production deployment of services via resource configuration, planning, and customer education/training. Creates and distributes technical assets (white papers, solution code, blog posts, and video demonstrations). Serves as a leading contributor for customers and sales on technical cloud solutions and customer success. Identifies gaps and enhancements to influence engineering roadmaps for customer driven features. Leading contributor, may provide direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. May interact with C level. Maintains expertise by staying current on emerging technologies.
Minimum qualifications include: 8 years experience with computer applications and tools required. Ability to travel 50% international and domestic.
Preferred but not required qualifications include: Bachelor of Science-level university degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering from accredited university; and/or relevant 8 years technical experience. Advanced degree in relevant field of studies highly desirable. Expertise in and an in depth and thorough knowledge of competitive and industry knowledge in the field of computer applications and tools; System and application design; Implementation of advanced product features; Project management; Solving technical problems with customers in technical environments; Written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; Needs analysis, positioning, and business justification. 8 years experience and expertise in the clear communication of technical information to others through presentations, demonstrations, written communication and consultative solutioning experience.
