Job Overview
We are seeking highly skilled and innovative Lead/Principal Engineers with a strong background in Linux and AWS Cloud to join our team in East Europe. The ideal candidate will have expertise in cloud infrastructure automation, particularly with tools like Terraform, Python, Chef, and Ansible, and a deep understanding of AWS compute optimization. This is a critical role requiring strategic thinking, technical excellence, and leadership capabilities to drive the success of our cloud initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Cloud Infrastructure Design & Implementation: Architect, implement, and optimize AWS cloud-based solutions with a focus on compute performance and cost-efficiency.
- Automation & Orchestration: Develop and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform and other automation tools like Chef, Ansible, and Python.
- Linux System Administration: Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of Linux-based systems within the cloud environment.
- AWS Optimization: Analyze and optimize AWS resource utilization, focusing on cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency.
- Technical Leadership: Provide mentorship to engineering teams, review code, and establish best practices for cloud and automation workflows.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate cloud solutions seamlessly into business processes.
- Problem Solving: Troubleshoot complex infrastructure challenges and resolve production incidents effectively.
Qualifications
Mandatory:
- Experience:
- 8+ years in Linux system administration and engineering.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS cloud technologies.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Terraform and automation tools like Chef and Ansible.
- Strong programming skills in Python.
- Deep understanding of AWS services, especially compute, networking, storage, and cost management.
- Optimization Expertise: Proven experience in AWS compute optimization for performance and cost.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of additional programming languages (e.g., Bash, Ruby).
- Certifications: AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer, or similar.
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
