IPD Group Australia is a leading distributor of electrical products, offering solutions and services to its local market for the past 60 years.
We are currently seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Compliance Engineer - Electrical to ensure our products and processes meet all regulatory and safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in the electrical industry, with a focus on product compliance. This role requires excellent analytical skills, a good understanding of industry standards, and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams to maintain and enhance our compliance framework.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensure the electrical products comply with relevant Australian and international standards and regulations.
- Develop and maintain compliance documentation, including test reports, certifications, and technical files.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and certification agencies to obtain necessary approvals and certifications.
- Monitor changes in regulations and standards, and update internal processes and documentation accordingly.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of products and processes to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Provide technical support and guidance to the product development team to ensure compliance is integrated into the design process.
- Investigate and resolve compliance-related issues including non-conformances
- Train and educate staff on compliance requirements and best practices.
- Prepare and present product compliance status to management and stakeholders.
Qualifications & Skills/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in Electrical Industry preferably in compliance/consultancy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage compliance-related projects and deadlines
- Ability to communicate compliance requirements clearly to internal teams and external stakeholders
- Capability to resolve compliance issues, advise on corrective actions, and provide solutions for non-compliance risks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work on Australian work hours and calendar
- Experience in reading, understanding, and interpreting the technical requirements and clauses of standards or regulations is an added advantage.
