As our Network Engineer, reporting to the Director of Information Systems, you will play a key role in maintaining and administering Perkins’ on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure. This includes managing Azure, Intune, Entra, SSO, Windows Servers, storage, firewalls, switches, WIFI, phone systems, and more. Your expertise will ensure smooth, secure, and efficient operation of Perkins’ IT infrastructure to support our mission.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Expectations include the following:
- Lead the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of infrastructure systems, including Azure, Intune, Entra, SSO, Windows Servers, storage, firewalls, switches, WIFI, phone systems, UPS equipment, email, security, and backup systems.
- Document requests, projects, assets, and changes in our project management and ticketing system.
- Develop and maintain network diagrams and infrastructure documentation using diagram tools and asset management systems.
- Recommend and implement corrective actions to meet network and data security requirements
- Evaluate and recommend new equipment and solutions while incorporating user accessibility needs.
- Ensure infrastructure systems are patched, secure, and monitored for threats using tools like Armorpoint Cybersecurity, Cybereason EDR, and Mobile Device Management (MDM) systems.
- Oversee Microsoft Entra, Active Directory, Google Workspace, and SSO administration.
- Enforce file storage security and data loss prevention best practices.
- Respond to issues and perform work after-hours or on weekends as required.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, subnets, VLANs, DHCP, and DNS (Network+).
- Experience setting up and configuring infrastructure equipment and systems both on-prem and in an Azure cloud environment
- Familiarity with backup and recovery solutions and methodologies.
- Proficiency in managing user accounts, groups, and security rights in Microsoft Entra, Active Directory, Google Workspace, and SSO.
- Knowledge of file and folder permissions and ITIL Change Management best practices.
- Configuring policies and automation with Intune and Mosyle MDM solutions
- Systems integration experience for authentication and data sharing in a cloud environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for documenting and performing work.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement solutions.
- Effective communication skills to keep co-workers, vendors, and staff informed.
- Independent and proactive, capable of troubleshooting issues and managing tasks with minimal direction.
- Team player with a collaborative and adaptable mindset.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's Degree required
- 3-5 years of related technical experience required
