Role: IT Server Engineer
Duration: 12 Months
Location: Brooklyn, NY – Hybrid
Overview: We are seeking an IT Server Engineer to work with our client. The IT Server Engineer will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining technical solutions within the client’s network and infrastructure. This position requires expertise in server engineering, cloud solutions, application configuration, and automation tools, as well as proficiency in a wide range of technologies and platforms. The role demands strong problem-solving skills, independent research capabilities, and the ability to work collaboratively in a project team environment.
Duties:
- Support the Legacy Replacement Project effort by working with vendors to address any part of the proposed solution that needs to be developed within the client’s network and infrastructure, including servers, SaaS cloud solutions, application installation/configuration, and engineering tasks using automation tools like UIPath.
- Provide functional support in developing, implementing, and maintaining the data bridging effort throughout the entire life cycle of the project.
- Engineer, design, and implement technical solutions to business problems, administer them, monitor their performance, and maintain them while working with minimal supervision in a project team environment.
- Troubleshoot technical problems and independently research solutions, clearly document installation and configuration steps, and, when possible, develop automation scripts to carry out routine fixes.
- Work overtime as required to meet project demands.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in computer science, information systems or a field related to the essential functions with 10+ years of experience.
- A combination of formal education, professional certifications, and directly related work experience may substitute for the degree.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Manage and configure web servers such as IIS, Tomcat, and IBM WebSphere
- Azure AD/Office365 configuration and provisioning
- Server virtualization/upgrades/configuration (including a focus on volumetric and capacity forecasting)
- Salesforce administration
- SCCM administration
- Citrix VDI imaging
- PowerShell scripting
- Following is a list of technologies in which the individual should be proficient, and will be required to support: Windows 10, VMWare, Citrix virtual applications and desktops (VDIs), Windows Server 2012 ,2016,2019 and 2022 (including Active Directory, DNS, FTP, WSUS, and Group Policies), printers and print server administration, IBM WebSphere, Office365 (including Intune, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and Exchange Online), and a number of 3rd party products. And Veritas NetBackup and Azzure Virtual Desktop.
