We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join our client's team in Brooklyn, NY. This role is ideal for a dedicated and proactive professional who thrives in a dynamic, high-demand environment. The position requires working 12-hour shifts on weekends and Tuesdays, ensuring seamless network operations, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining the infrastructure's overall integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and availability during assigned shifts.
- Perform routine checks, updates, and maintenance on routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.
- Identify and resolve network issues promptly to minimize downtime and disruptions.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to address escalated network problems.
- Assist in implementing system upgrades, patches, and configurations as needed.
- Optimize network performance by analyzing data and identifying areas for improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of network incidents, changes, and updates.
- Provide detailed shift reports to ensure smooth handovers.
- Monitor network for unauthorized access or vulnerabilities.
- Ensure adherence to industry-standard security protocols and compliance requirements.
Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar role.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar networking platforms.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in configuring and managing network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, etc.).
- Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark).
- Familiarity with cybersecurity practices and tools.
Certifications:
- Preferred certifications include CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent.
