- Implemented a Data Classification proof-of-concept that showcased the advanced data classification and labeling technology (in Microsoft Purview Information Protection) such as automatic labeling, integration with Microsoft’s data loss prevention tool, and RMS (encryption enabled protections) labels. Created and thoroughly tested over 40 unique classification test cases ranging from persistent classification to automatic labeling based on sensitive information types present in the file. Strategized with client's security team to create a future roadmap for an enterprise-wide RMS label deployment to present to the CISO.
- Lead a Data Discovery effort by leveraging Microsoft Purview governance portal to scan structured data sources (AzureSQL, MySQL, CosmosDB) for sensitive data types. Utilized Microsoft APIs to develop a bespoke Python application to query the client’s Purview data catalog for additional data analysis and reporting purposes. Constructed a tailored PowerShell script that automates the bulk configuration of data source scan schedules. Generated a customized PowerBI report that harnessed Microsoft Purview data catalog information to provide visibility into the real sensitive data that was present within various production and non-production databases.

Designed custom rule sets to detect and alert various Sensitive Information Types (PII, Credit Card, Proprietary) being sent via email. - Served as workstream lead of an enterprise-wide legacy email cleanup effort for a North American beverage company. Performed a detailed analysis of over 30,000 user/shared mailboxes to identify and migrate all legacy mailboxes to decrease the attack surface of the client. Utilized Proofpoint admin dashboards to gather requisite data and implement changes in O365 and Active Directory environments. Generated Excel data summary views by utilizing custom PowerShell scripts to process and return user account data from Active Directory servers.
