We are looking for a proactive, teachable, and collaborative Network & Systems Administrator I to join our team. This role is essential to managing and securing our network, server infrastructure, and user support systems. The ideal candidate is a versatile problem-solver with a foundation in systems and network administration who is eager to grow within our organization. You will work directly with the Associate Director of Technology and provide essential support across various technology functions, with a focus on network security, server management, and user support. This role is ideal for a candidate with 1-3 years of experience who is excited about learning new skills, wearing multiple hats, and being part of a team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

Network Management & Security
- Manage and troubleshoot network connectivity issues, including DHCP, DNS, firewall configurations, VLANs, WAPs, and VPNs (Site-to-Site and User SSL).
- Configure and maintain firewalls, switches, and network segmentation for optimal security and performance.
- Conduct regular security audits, implement security protocols, and ensure data protection against unauthorized access.
System Administration & Server Management
- Administer Windows Active Directory, Azure AD, and Microsoft 365 environments, including mailbox management and licensing.
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot virtual machines and internal servers to support business operations.
- Oversee the maintenance and configuration of domain controllers and Radius server administration.
User Management & Tech Support
- Handle user onboarding and offboarding processes, including laptop provisioning and account setup.
- Provide level 2 or 3 support for the Help Desk team and assist with higher-level troubleshooting when needed.
- Support general hardware management, including laptops, monitors, printers, toner, and peripheral equipment.
Inventory & Licensing Management
- Manage IT inventory, including licensing, permissions, and tracking hardware/software assets.
- Maintain detailed logs of software, firmware updates, service contracts, and passwords.
Documentation & Optimization
- Regularly document system configurations, updates, and troubleshooting processes to build a knowledge base.
- Continuously look for opportunities to optimize systems for better performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

Requirements

Qualifications

Technical Skills
- Basic to intermediate experience with network management, including firewall configurations, VPNs, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, and switch management.
- Familiarity with Windows Active Directory, Azure AD, and Microsoft 365 (including Exchange and mailbox licensing).
- Basic knowledge of server virtualization, IT inventory management, and backup solutions.
- General troubleshooting skills, with an ability to quickly resolve hardware, network, and software issues.
Preferred Experience
- 1-3 years of experience in a Systems Administrator or Network Administrator role, ideally with exposure to mixed networking environments.
- Experience with Netbox administration, or Datto/Azure backup is a plus.
