Position Overview

REDCap (Reseach Electronic Data Capture) is a secure web application for building and managing online surveys and databases. Reporting into Research & Innovation and Information Technology (IT), the incumbent will ensure the REDCap servers are maintained and managed in compliance with MGH policies and procedures, Ontario’s Personal Health Information and Protection Act (PHIPA) and Personal Information for Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Health Canada, and REDCap license terms.

The incumbent will closely partner with the MGH Research and IT teams to establish and implement a REDCap server infrastructure and governance framework. Additional responsibilities include REDCap system maintenance and updates, and ongoing operational and infrastructure support for REDCap. The incumbent will work with Analysts in the Department of Research & Innovation for any relevant end-user support.

This is a part-time contract position until March 31, 2026, with the potential to renew (Expected around 15-20 hours per week).

Education

• IT related post secondary degree or diploma.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering or Computer Science is preferred.
• One or more of the following certificates: CompTIA A+, ITIL, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), and/or Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)

Experience

•    Minimum 3 years hands-on experience in system administrator role or 5 years hands-on (level 2 or higher) experience in a technical support role.
•    Proficient computer skills (adept with Microsoft products, especially Excel).
•    Proficient in computerprogramming and experience working with relational databases (e.g., PHP, MySQL).
•    Familiarity with the REDCap platform is preferred
•    Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.
•    Demonstrated flexibility with the ability to effectively and efficiently multi-task and prioritize work.
•    Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality with respect to all aspects of work being performed.
•    Good interpersonal and communications skills, including the ability to express
technical ideas that can be easily understood.
•    Good judgment and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
•    Continuous upgrading of business and technical skills.
•    Exhibits attitude for continuous improvementand a standard of excellence in customer service.
•    Able to prioritize responsibilities and organize workload to ensure that timeframes are met.
•    Strong interpersonal skills, proven leadership skills and exhibit a high level of professionalism.
•    Good work and attendance record required.
