JOB SUMMARY

The Cloud Engineer 3 acts as a tech lead and is responsible for maintaining a healthy cloud environment. Responsibilities include utilizing an agile and innovative mindset to administer, develop and maintain our cloud environment (Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Power Platform, and Microsoft 365) and growing your skills and knowledge to keep abreast of the ever-changing technology.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Partner with development and QA teams to design, build, and deploy scalable, high-performance applications using Azure products and services (e.g. App Services, Functions, Logic Apps, Azure SQL databases, Storage Account, Automation Account, other PaaS offerings)
Partner with business users to design, build, and deploy low-code or no-code applications using Power Platform products and services (e.g. Power Automate, Power Apps, Power Pages, Copilot Studio)
Lead and empower developers by providing support of Azure DevOps and GitHub Enterprise and implementing CI/CD best practices
Streamline enterprise operations with scripting and automation in PowerShell
Responsible for provision and configure cloud resources using Bicep and Azure Portal
Build and maintain logging, monitoring and alerting solutions for resource and service health
Troubleshoot issues related to cloud services and networking to ensure high availability and reliability
Optimize cloud resource usage for performance, cost, and scalability
Partner with cyber security, risk, governance, and compliance teams to improve cloud security
Responsible for maintaining documentation and knowledge base for cloud architectures and system dependency
Independently lead and drive project delivery with technical direction, domain expertise, and business context
Lead cloud solution architecture sessions with cross-function teams
Provide tech expertise and leadership in training and mentoring less experienced team members
Continuously review and improve cloud engineering practice based on Azure Well-Architected Framework
Efficiently and effectively execute cloud innovation and improvement plans to achieve better reliability, security, cost optimization, operational excellence, and performance efficiency
Assess and document improvement plans based on Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework for Azure and Microsoft Power Platform adoption best practices

Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Strong learning capabilities and dedication to growth
Advanced experience automation solutions using Microsoft Power Automate and Power Apps
Advanced experience scripting and programming experience (PowerShell, C#, Python)
Ability to design PaaS solutions using Azure Logic Apps, Azure functions, and Azure SWL database
Ability to learn quickly in cloud engineering and operations

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education

Bachelor’s in management information systems, information technology, computer science, or related field. Combination of education and/or relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
Within 12 months of job entry, must acquire Microsoft certificate “Azure Developer Associate”
Within 24 months of job entry, must acquire Microsoft certificate “DevOps Engineer Expert” or “Azure Solutions Architect Expert”

Experience

5+ years experience in a related role with progressing responsibilities.
