ABOUT THE TEAM

This team will deliver concept hardware and software solutions driven by high-quality UX research that defines an end-to-end product definition for Toyota's next-generation vehicles. This concept work will produce a full-stack solution starting with the digital services, the programmable software system, and the underlying compute and electrical architecture of the vehicle.

This team represents the cutting edge of software and hardware development at Toyota. Your work will marry the speed and agility of Silicon Valley software development with the standards of functional safety, craftsmanship, and time-tested quality of Toyota products in a fast-paced and collaborative prototyping environment.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

As a member of the Arene Advanced Development team, you will work on developing applications for a modern vehicle operating system and platform, focusing on advanced sensors, visual displays and intelligent software for next generation vehicles.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- We design, develop and deploy software that delivers new and novel end-user experiences in the automotive and mobility spaces
- We provide solutions and software deliverables to support new sensors, hardware and user interfaces for automotive products
- Identify technical solutions and create development plans for complex features that utilize cutting edge technologies
- Develop applications and software for both x86 and aarch64 system architectures
- Participate in discussions about technical issues, design choices, and decision making
- Maintain and support software operations for a variety of automotive platforms
- Analysis of requirements, architecture, design, development, code review, quality assurance and deployment, the entire software engineering life cycle
- Work closely with team members with different skill sets and expertise (designers, researchers), other teams, and external partners.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- 3+ years of experience and a B.S., M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Strong C++ and Python programming skills
- Passionately motivated to take ideas from R&D phase to a product
- Good team player with great communication skills (making presentations)
- Experience in software development for automotive applications
- Multi-threaded, multi-core and multi-system programming
- Software development for systems utilizing live sensor inputs (cameras, etc)
- Software development for ML/AI-enabled applications is a plus
- Software development for User Interfaces (IVI, IC) is a plus
- Software development for User Interfaces (IVI, IC) is a plus
- Software development on embedded systems is a plus
- Experience with communications protocols such as CAN, Some/IP, DDS or similar is a plus
- Experience with mobile or web back-end development in any language is a plus

$140,000- $230,000 a year

Your base salary is one part of your total compensation. We offer a base salary, short term and long term incentives, and a comprehensive benefits package. The California pay scale for this full time position is $140,000- $230,000. The total compensation offered to an employee will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and level.
