Sr. Systems Engineer

Our Fortune 100 client, the largest energy company in the nation is embarking on a multi-year project to transition from Storage Area Network (SAN) storage equipment to a new system. This role will support a critical storage migration project, focusing on moving from EMC (block level storage) to NetApp (file level storage) equipment. The project also includes a refresh of the SAN databases.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in UNIX systems with a strong background in storage technologies.
- Proven experience in migrating data between different storage devices.
- In-depth knowledge of EMC and NetApp storage systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute the migration of data from EMC to NetApp storage systems.
- Provide expertise in UNIX operating systems, particularly in the context of storage migrations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data migration and minimal disruption to operations.
- Monitor and optimize storage performance during and after the migration process.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to the storage migration.
- Document processes, configurations, and changes to ensure knowledge transfer and compliance.
- Support the refresh and maintenance of SAN databases.
