Position Summary
The Sr. IT System Administrator is responsible for designing, building, improving, and maintaining highly reliable, sustainable, cost-effective, and secure IT infrastructure systems. The position will design, build, maintain, and deploy various technologies to build a robust infrastructure for hospital systems to run on.
Design, develop and maintain the hospital’s Microsoft Windows enterprise Active Directory, networking, virtual infrastructure environment and is responsible for system performance monitoring, tuning and general maintenance (logs, backups, etc.). Provides higher tier support for problem escalation. The Sr. IT System Administrator provides outstanding client service and contributes to the hospital’s mission of utilizing information technology to improve workflows and patient care.

This position is a hybrid position and requires that you live in the Denver metro area.
Position Requirements
- Lincensure/Certification/Registrations: Microsoft Network or Systems level certification (MS 365 Admin, MS Endpoint Admin, MS certified Systems or Network Admin), or above is preferred or applicable work experience.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a computer related field (preferred) or an additional four (4) years of related work experience. BBA, MIS or BS in Computer Science preferred.
- Experience: Eight (8) years minimum experience in systems administration. Two (2) years or more of experience preferred with the following technologies: VMware ESX, Microsoft OS, Linux, enterprise collaboration services, disk cloning, Nutanix/Hyperconverged storage, PowerShell scripting, Office365, Window Server Administration and Active Directory Administration. Cross-platform experience with VMware vSphere, VMWare VDI, Microsoft OS, enterprise collaboration services or similar technologies, including file share management and backup technologies.
- Skills & Abilities: Demonstrated capability of managing Microsoft and Linux environments and enterprise storage. Knowledgeable of IT security best practices and real-world implications. Demonstrated system development, implementation, and maintenance skills. Good scripting skills and familiarity with automation techniques. Good communication and presentation skills, both in written form and verbally. Demonstrated knowledge of Group Policy management, Active Directory/ Exchange management; Strong understanding of networking concepts; strong understanding of telecommunications and the ability to efficiently document and track technical support issues. Excellent interpersonal relationship skills. Ability to collaborate and build relationships with peers and customers to align hospital and IT strategic services. The ability to work independently, organize time effectively and ability to coordinate appropriate resources. Skilled in both verbal and in written communication. Strong customer-oriented people skills. Devises or modifies procedures and systems to solve complex problems. Exercises sound judgment and proven analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills. Ability to provide in-depth root cause analysis and identify the least impactful and lowest risk resolutions or modifications; Experience with Office365 and Microsoft enterprise email and background system technologies; Commitment to quality and results.
Essential Functions
- Provide technical expertise for all technical staff and technical projects within the IS Department. This includes being responsible for the management and support of all technical aspects of the hospital's systems infrastructure in support of all applications and databases.
- Participate in the planning, designing, documenting, purchasing, installation, configuration, and technical support of all hospital systems infrastructure components, including cabling, electrical lines, devices, and software. This will require working with vendors to properly deploy and maintain products.
- Proactively manage the Server, Storage and Hyperconverged Infrastructure environments.
- Oversee and enhance Microsoft EntraID, Azure, and various collaborative tools environments
- Propose and implement enhancements to improve system performance and reliability.
- Perform capacity planning for data-center power, network, server, virtualization and storage systems.
- Apply best practices for hardware, software, and storage lifecycle management.
- Maintain and improve system auditing and availability monitoring tools.
- Define and document IT project objectives, timelines, and deliverables that support clinical/business goals in collaboration with hospital staff and management.
- Proactively communicate project expectations and progression to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion throughout the life-cycle of each project.
- Build, develop, and grow mutually beneficial vendor relationships.
- Thoroughly document system configurations, changes, and operations.
- Evaluate new technologies and identify appropriate use cases.
- Provide technical guidance and train infrastructure and Service Desk staff on system configuration, management, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Provide periodic on-call support of 24x7 systems and affected end-users.
