Seeking the services of an experienced Systems Administrator under the working title of Azure Cloud Engineer.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain processes that optimize Microsoft Azure resources.
- Analyze Azure resource performance to identify resource contention, and recommend changes or upgrades as needed to ensure optimization.
- Perform Microsoft Entra identification management activities.
- Develop and maintain technical specifications, standards, procedures, and systems documentation.
- Work with data center staff, OIT, and users to perform Azure resource deployments, upgrades, and configuration changes.
- Assist Azure application owners/administrators and users with appropriate application access.
- Train infrastructure team members on Azure and Azure best practices as required.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve Windows and Linux server issues with minimal impact on users.
- Write PowerShell scripts to be used to monitor server properties and perform Active Directory and Azure management activities.
- Administer and configure Azure infrastructure security as needed for OIT staff and users.
- Research and recommend appropriate technical solutions to meet functional requirements.
- Provide recommendations for possible process improvements within the Department’s infrastructure team.
- Create schedules for the development and implementation of specific software systems; and
- Perform additional Systems Administrator tasks as required by the Department.
Required Qualifications:
- Five (5) or more years of Windows server experience;
- Three (3) or more years of Microsoft Azure or Cloud experience;
- Expertise with branching strategy, CI/CD pipeline implementation with Azure pipelines, and version control across environments with Azure repositories;
- Three (3) or more years of Linux server experience;
- Server administration experience with three (3) or more years administering Windows 2016 and newer;
- Five (5) or more years of experience with Active Directory and Domain Name System (DNS) administration in an enterprise environment with 1,000 or more users;
- Experience writing, testing, and executing PowerShell scripts;
- Experience working in a virtual server or Cloud environment; and
- Experience installing, maintaining, and supporting third party applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Agile or Scrum-based Project Management.
- IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Service Management Foundations Certified
- Experience managing projects with a large, distributed user base
- Experience developing and managing schedules for multiple projects
- Experience managing waterfall projects
- Experience with state government projects.
- Experience managing and reporting projects in compliance with Rule 60GG-1, F.A.C.
- Experience working with technical programming teams.
- Ability to demonstrate a professional can-do attitude with the initiative to solve complex problems.
- Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders.
- Skills in facilitation and team building.
- Knowledge of IT standards in a criminal justice environment.
- Knowledge in other IT areas such as programming and data analytics etc.
- A team player attitude with a high-energy level and diligent work ethic; and
- Ability to meet or exceed deadlines, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and organize and prioritize activities.
Education and Certification:
A bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required.
Alternatively, four (4) years of equivalent work experience can be substituted for the educational requirement.
