This position is part of SKBA's IT Shared service but actually functions as a member of the BlueOval SK IT team.

BlueOval SK is a historic investment between two global companies, Ford Motor Company and SK On, who share the ambitious vision of electrifying the future of mobility. Together, they invested a total of $11.4 billion dollars to form a Joint Venture company called BlueOval SK. By utilizing SK On’s battery technology the company aspires to make the world’s most safe and dependable electric vehicle (EV) batteries for the Ford and Lincoln brands.
The partnership is building three EV battery plants. One plant is located in Stanton, Tennessee at BlueOval City and twin plants will stand in Glendale, Kentucky at BlueOval SK Battery Park.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Server Equipment Installation & Management: Lead the complete cycle of server equipment installation, configuration, and ongoing management to ensure steadfast performance and uptime.
- Server Optimization & Scalability: Regularly evaluate the server infrastructure, initiate optimization strategies, and ensure that server resources are scalable in alignment with the company's growth trajectory.
- Security & Compliance: Implement stringent security measures, including advanced firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and secure access protocols to protect organizational data and maintain compliance with industry norms.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Deliver swift solutions to server-related disruptions, ensuring minimal downtime, and offering consistent support to users facing access or performance issues.
- Performance Monitoring: Diligently monitor server health metrics, load balance, and storage allocations, making requisite adjustments for optimal server operations.
- Continuous Learning & Training: Remain conversant with the latest trends in server technologies, management tools, and security protocols. Facilitate training initiatives and extend robust support to the overarching Infrastructure team.
Minimum Requirements (skills required to do this job; list at least 3 that are quantifiable):
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Engineering, or a similar field.
- 3-6 years of direct experience in server equipment installation, configuration, and robust management.
- Proficiency in managing various server hardware platforms and associated technologies.
- Comprehensive knowledge of server operating systems, including Windows Server, Linux, and UNIX.
- Deep understanding of virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM.
- Stellar problem-solving capabilities, especially in diagnosing and resolving server issues.
- Outstanding teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills.
Preferred Requirements:
- Familiarity with cloud-based server solutions and platforms like AWS EC2, Azure VM, or Google Compute Engine.
- Experience in managing containerized environments using Docker or Kubernetes.
- In-depth knowledge of server backup, replication, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Earning certifications like Microsoft's MCSE, Red Hat's RHCE, or VMware's VCP would be a significant advantage.
