We are looking for a Network Engineer to join the team in support of the U.S. International Trade Commission in Washington, D.C. This position requires on-site presence to manage and maintain various IT infrastructure components, providing critical support for network engineering projects.
The role: Network Engineer
Location: Onsite in Washington, DC
Offer: up to $180k yr. (depending on experience) + benefits package
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, minimizing downtime through effective problem-solving, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Create, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for network operations.
- Install and integrate IT infrastructure components for Tier 2-3 support, coordinating with vendors as needed.
- Monitor the performance, configuration, and availability of all IT infrastructure components using management and monitoring systems.
- Provide operational support for various data network components, including WAN, Cloud, LAN (both wired and wireless), firewalls, and other IT infrastructure.
- Support cloud computing environments, including PaaS, IaaS, SaaS, and hybrid environments.
- Manage Windows Azure AD for SAML 2.0 single sign-on (SSO) configurations.
- Provide assistance to the Security Operations Center (SOC) in addressing cybersecurity incidents and investigations.
- Support government personnel in researching and implementing security vulnerability resolutions and remediation strategies for IT infrastructure and applications.
Required Qualifications:
- Must have at least an active Secret Clearance
- Active IAT II certification (e.g., Security+)
- Minimum of 4 years of recent IT Network Engineering experience
- Experience in Tier 2-3 support and vendor coordination for IT infrastructure components
- Proficiency in supporting and managing WAN, Cloud, LAN (wired and wireless), firewalls, and related network components
