Our Enterprise Mobility Solutions team is working on creating a powerful, easy-to-use platform that empowers administrators to enforce device management and security policies, while giving in-the-field workers the freedom to access critical settings and complete their missions. Their expertise in security, networking, and mobile development is helping build a product that sets new standards for simplicity, elegance, and robustness.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Android Developer to develop and maintain enterprise level applications aimed at a vast number of diverse Android devices.
Our team is working on essential tools for government, healthcare, manufacturing, and other industries. We are currently developing a brand new product from scratch.
Your primary focus will be development of Android applications and their integration with back-end services. Your work will have high visibility across global Samsung community of developers and clients.
This role is US-based remote position. Team is based on the East Coast and works in Eastern Time Zone. Occasional traveling to conferences and workshop might be required up to 10%.
Responsibilities:
- Create elegant code and comprehensive unit tests
- Work closely with remote development teams: Solutions Architects, Technical Leads, and Leadership
- Comprehend complex business/system requirements and architecture
- Improve knowledge of Software Engineering best practices, Software development lifecycle including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Come up with the high level design based on the requirements
- Communication skills to deal directly with customers and partners where needed.
Requirements - 5+ years of Java software development experience, including 3+ years of Android development, 1+ years of Kotlin development
- Strong knowledge of the Android SDK, different versions of Android, and responsive/adaptive UI design
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services
- Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices (MVVM architecture)
- Experience with local persistent storage like Android Room and Datastore/Shared Preferences
- Familiarity with the use of additional sensors, such as heart rate, gyroscopes, and accelerometers
- Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
- Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
- A knack for benchmarking and optimization
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
- Familiarity with continuous integration
- Bachelor degree is required in Computer Science or related field
- Willing and able to business travel up to ~10%
- Must be based in the US and authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in Jetpack Compose
- Experience in Wear OS development
- Experience in Kotlin Compose Multi-Platform and/or KTOR (Kotlin server) development
- Experience with Mobile Management solutions

Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills.
