As a BIE II, you will help develop an insightful platform provide insights from Paragon as a product, influence the product roadmap and contribute to the “CMS Insights Suite” of actionable datasets and metrics that support tenants covering both retrospective and near real time reporting use cases.
The BIE II will collaborate with the product and tech teams across Paragon and it's partners teams to gather requirements, structure scalable and performant data solutions, and gain a deep understanding of key datasets.
A successful candidate will be highly driven, self starter and should have passion for data. The candidates is expected to be expert with SQL with working knowledge of Python and continually seek opportunities to inject advanced analytical,(statistics and science) based techniques.
Key job responsibilities
Here are key job responsibilities for a Business Intelligence Engineer role:
BI and Data Analytics
- Lead complex data analysis projects to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization across the organization
- Develop and implement innovative BI solutions to create insights into the product capabilities and performance as well as drive optimal operational efficiencies by gathering data from various sources.
Technology Integration and Optimization:
- Optimize the performance, scalability, and reliability of the organization's data infrastructure and reporting systems
- Engage in measuring data quality, A/B testing launching and managing metric catalog and curated data data layer
- Ensure the integrity, security, and governance of the organization's data assets
Stakeholder Engagement and Reporting:
- Communicate data-driven insights and recommendations to the stakeholders
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across Paragon to drive strategic goals through data driven decision making
Team Development and Mentorship:
- Mentor and guide junior team members in the application of advanced data analysis, business intelligence, and process improvement methodologies
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and process improvement within the team
- 4+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience developing and presenting recommendations of new metrics allowing better understanding of the performance of the business
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Bachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
- 4+ years of experience in Data/BI space
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Master's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
