Amazon Web Services (AWS) Worldwide Public Sector Tech team is looking for a passionate, mission driven, customer focused, and innovative Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) for the U.S. Federal, Solutions Architecture organization.
You will work with cross functional teams to execute technical projects and programs that drive growth. You will identify and support the execution of new opportunities for transformational growth, developing levers, capabilities and programs to capture growth. You will work alongside Strategy, Business Development, Solution Architect, Federal Partners, ProServe, AWS Service Teams and other builders to develop mechanisms and levers that ensure our solutions deliver on customer’s missions.
You will serve as the liaison between technical teams and business teams while being the voice of the customer. You will have meaningful visibility and impact in the growth of the US Federal business.
This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and currently possess and maintain an active Top Secret security clearance.
Key job responsibilities
Your responsibilities include managing large, complex technology and business initiatives, delivering solutions, developing mechanisms and delivering results while working across multiple teams in and/or across organizations.
As part of your project and program ownership, you will dive deep to understand the larger business context (including customer and industry trends, business insights, strategy, business initiatives and customer mission outcomes) and you will deeply understand the technical requirements of solutions being built.
You will work across teams to help increase adoption of the mechanisms and improve based on inspections and feedback.
A day in the life
You will be instrumental in designing programs and project plans, define measures of success, using agile/scrum methodology to prioritize and deliver results, and problem solve where required to ensure results are delivered at the quality and timelines required. To meet timelines and minimize disruption to builder teams, you will manage the overall schedule, proactively mitigate risks, and keep the scope of solution efforts under control.
You will accelerate progress by driving crisp and timely decisions, technical trade-offs, clearing blockers (e.g., “Path to green”), escalating appropriately.
