Roles and Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy LAN/WAN network infrastructure to meet business requirements, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
- Act as the 3rd level support for all LAN/WAN alerts and network issues, diagnosing and resolving complex network problems.
- Manage and maintain all network monitoring and reporting systems, ensuring the availability, health, and performance of the network.
- Produce and maintain up-to-date documentation related to the network infrastructure, configurations, deployments, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Perform on-call duty for non-business hours support, providing timely resolution to network issues as per shift assignments.
- Configure and install network devices and services including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, and QoS configurations.
- Perform regular network maintenance, including updates, service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations to ensure the systems are current and secure.
- Continuously monitor network performance, resource utilization, system availability, and capacity planning to ensure optimal functioning.
- Work within established configuration and change management policies, ensuring that any changes to the network infrastructure are properly documented, approved, and successfully implemented.
- Collaborate with the company’s security team to select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures to protect the network from vulnerabilities and unauthorized access.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5-8 years of experience in network engineering, with proven expertise in managing and maintaining complex LAN/WAN infrastructures.
- Hands-on experience with Next Gen Firewalls, especially Cisco Firepower or similar technologies.
- Advanced knowledge of routing and switching protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, VLANs) and experience in troubleshooting routing loops.
- Experience configuring and installing a variety of network devices and services, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, and QoS technologies.
- Proficiency in network monitoring tools and maintenance practices, ensuring continuous availability and reliability of network systems.
- Deep understanding of network security, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion prevention systems (IPS), and familiarity with the latest security tools and techniques.
- Experience working within change management processes to ensure successful and controlled network changes.
- Ability to monitor resource utilization, perform capacity planning, and optimize network infrastructure to meet growing demands.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve complex technical issues under pressure.
