Job Description
The Systems Administrator plays a crucial role in supporting and maintaining all production systems, encompassing both artist workstations and support staff tools. A keen understanding of design, animation, and VFX production processes is vital, especially when it comes to configuring, deploying, and overseeing core industry applications such as Figma, Maya, Nuke, C4D, and the Adobe Suite.
The role encompasses overseeing the technological foundations of the company—data centers, cloud solutions, servers, and storage, as well as setups for remote work. Collaborating with production teams to ensure that all technical needs of projects are met is also essential.
The position will require working in our Downtown Los Angeles office.
Responsibilities
- Promptly troubleshoot and creatively resolve issues related to software, hardware, and overall systems, prioritizing challenges encountered by artists and developers.
- Adapt or enhance systems to align with the changing demands of production.
- Provide consistent production support using various mediums, including Slack, ZenDesk, email, and direct interactions.
- Diligently monitor critical systems and address arising technical complications.
- Engage consistently with Artists and Producers, aiming to provide innovative solutions to intricate technical challenges.
- Oversee and optimize network, storage configurations, backend servers, and deployment tools to promote operational excellence.
Requirements
- Experience or a strong interest in production pipeline processes, particularly in areas such as automation, render management, and configuration management.
- Advanced knowledge of Windows and MacOS operating systems, Linux a plus.
- Advanced knowledge of config management software like JAMF, saltstack, PDQ, or similar.
- Experience configuring cloud rendering services including AWS and GCP.
- Knowledge of design and graphics software, notably Figma, Maya, Nuke, C4D, and After Effects.
- Prior involvement within a technical systems team, ideally one that managed diverse graphics workstations and video tools.
- Outstanding communication skills paired with adept project management capabilities.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to foresee production hurdles and initiate effective solutions.
- Precision, attention to detail, and a robust organizational acumen.
- Scripting knowledge (Powershell, Python) a plus.
- Advanced networking capabilities, spanning both Layer 2 & 3.

Salary Range: $70-$100k Annually
