Akkodis is seeking a Network Engineer to join the team of our client in San Diego, CA. This position requires someone who is experienced with hands on tunneling for IPSEC and GRE tunnels. The Network Engineer is responsible fordesigning, implementing, and maintaining robust network infrastructures that support seamless digital communication.
Pay: $45.00/hr-$65.00/hr
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructures to ensure robust digital connectivity.
- Optimize network performance, ensuring security, managing connectivity for cloud services, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and collaborating with IT teams to support digital transformation initiatives.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot production connectivity issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum performance.
- Configure and maintain network devices, including Cisco routers and switches, ensuring seamless network operations.
- Manage and optimize network tunneling protocols such as IPSec, GRE, and crypto maps.
- Maintain and secure Linux-based systems, with an emphasis on network-related tools like Iptables and tcpdump.
- Administer firewalls and appliances including Palo Alto, Fortinet, Checkpoint, and Cisco ASA to safeguard network security.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicating technical issues and solutions effectively to ensure project success.
- Apply Agile methodologies, including the Scaled Agile Framework, to network and systems engineering projects.
- Plan, organize, and execute tasks with accountability, ensuring deadlines and project goals are met.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Network & Systems Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in configuring and maintaining network infrastructure.
- Experienced with troubleshooting firewalls, IPSEC, and GRE network tunnels
- Strong technical understanding of network engineering and systems administration.
- Proficiency with Cisco devices, network tunneling, and Linux operating systems.
- Experience with network security tools and appliances such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, Checkpoint, and Cisco ASA.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, preferably the Scaled Agile Framework.
