Overview
We are seeking a skilled Windows System Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. This role involves managing and maintaining our Windows-based infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability.
Responsibilities
- System Administration:
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server operating systems (2012, 2016, 2019, 2022) and workstations.
- Manage Active Directory, including user accounts, groups, and policies.
- Configure and administer file servers, print servers, and other network services.
- Implement and maintain system security measures, including firewalls, antivirus, and intrusion detection systems.
- Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery procedures.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues promptly.
- Virtualization:
- Manage and optimize virtualized environments using Hyper-V or VMware.
- Create and maintain virtual machines for various applications and services.
- Scripting and Automation:
- Develop and implement PowerShell scripts to automate routine tasks and improve efficiency.
- Utilize scripting to streamline system administration and deployment processes.
- Problem Solving and Troubleshooting:
- Diagnose and resolve complex system issues, including hardware, software, and network problems.
- Identify and implement solutions to improve system performance and reliability.
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in Windows system administration.
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (Hyper-V or VMware).
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting.
- Understanding of network protocols and security best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft certifications (MCSA, MCSE).
- Experience with cloud-based solutions (Azure, AWS).
- Knowledge of automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
