ASRC Federal System Solutions (AFSS) a subsidiary of ASRC Federal Holding Company, is currently seeking a
System Administrator in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Role/Responsibilities
This position supports the GPS Control Segment (GCS) Sustainment Contract. System Administrators work closely with the GPS Operational Systems, Test, Software and Hardware Sustainment and Development Teams.
As a member of the GPS Systems Administration Team, the individual should have the ability to review project requirements, recommend & implement technical solutions. Skills key to daily support include the ability to trouble shoot real-time system anomalies, respond quickly and professionally to test/crew operator system interface issues/needs, all while working in a self-forming, dynamic team is an absolute must. The System Administrator is responsible for participating in the design, implementation, maintenance and support of Solaris, and Linux, in addition, to their periphery technologies.
Duties
- Candidate will be responsible for supporting multiple Solaris, Linux and Windows environments. Along with various network devices.
- Primary role is that of overall systems administration.
- Network equipment configuration and infrastructure troubleshooting experience highly desired.
- Maintain all systems in accordance with cyber security direction and best practices. (STIG/RMF)
- Configure lab test environments for various test activities.
- Support testing and test personnel for related tasks and troubleshooting, as needed.
- Ground up installations, patches and maintenance troubleshooting across all platforms.
- Be proactive in supporting management on technology direction, process development and implementation.
- Keep abreast of new technology in support of the systems being supported.
- Support new systems implementation, equipment installation and tests due to obsolescence and system upgrades.
- Perform configuration management and problem identification/resolution tracking in accordance with local procedures.
- Primary work location will be Wooten GPS Consolidated Test Environment (CTE)

The expected salary range is $100,000 to $180,000 depending on experience, seniority, geographic locations, and other factors permitted by law. Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 or more years of professional experience.
- Relevant technical certifications or experience may offset Bachelor's degree.
- Experience with one or more of Solaris 10/11 and Linux.
- Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux RHEL 6, 7 or 8 a plus.
- Experience with Windows administration a plus.
- VMware vCenter and VMware ESXi experience and VMware Certification a plus.
- Ability to modify/maintain networking equipment from Cisco, Palo Alto and Juniper desired.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to be flexible in a dynamic environment.
- Shift work is not a standard requirement, but must be willing to work a standard 8 hours between the core hours of 6AM and 6PM M-F as assigned.
- Willing to work more than 8 hours (extended day), weekends and/or holidays for special or unplanned events as needed.
- Ability to work in a team environment or independently as required.
- Knowledge of current enterprise technologies; such as virtualization, web site maintenance, active directory, LDAP, databases, DNS a plus..
- Ability to troubleshoot and maintain servers (physical and virtual) in Solaris, Linux, RHEL and/or Windows environments.
- Familiarity with Oracle and MS SQL database management a plus.
- Occasional travel (approximately four times a year at 1 week per trip) is possible.
- Security+ certified, CE. If candidate does not have current Security+, it must be obtained within 3 months of employment.
- Working knowledge of Cyber Security concepts and practices: RMF, STIGS and the ability to implement writen configurations.
- DoD 8500 understanding and experience.
- Professional certification(s) in operating systems, networking and cyber security desired.
- Candidate will be required to obtain/maintain a DoD issued Secret/Top Secret security clearance. Current Top Secret clearance is preferred.
