What's In It For You
The
Technical Strategist for Generative AI will play a pivotal role in advancing Bloomberg's AI initiatives. This role requires a strong research background and the ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts. You will contribute to keeping Bloomberg's AI platforms, products, and methods at the cutting edge of technology. You will also play a key part in educating teams internally about AI, while representing Bloomberg's AI expertise to the broader AI community and finance industry. This involves enhancing AI understanding across the company, promoting knowledge sharing between teams, and engaging with external partners, vendors, and the open-source community.
We'll trust you to
- Evaluate emerging technologies for their potential to address AI challenges within Bloomberg.
- Conduct and publish research in areas of strategic interest to Bloomberg, contributing to both internal advancements and the broader AI community.
- Evaluate vendor offerings to ensure that Bloomberg aligns with industry best practices and to identify opportunities for collaboration, technology licensing, and potential acquisitions.
- Educate internal and external teams on AI and machine learning.
- Support product managers in understanding modern AI workflows and techniques, and help them align their products with Bloomberg's broader AI ecosystem.
- Represent Bloomberg by discussing its AI products and research externally.
- Lead efforts to connect with the open-source AI community, contributing to the development and release of software, datasets, and shared tasks that advance AI research and practical applications.
- Maintain awareness of ongoing AI research and initiatives within Bloomberg to help identify opportunities for cross-team collaboration.
You'll need to have
- PhD in AI, machine learning, or a related field
- 5 years of relevant experience in industry or academia, with a deep understanding of GenAI
- Presence in the AI research community
- Strong communication skills, with experience in public speaking
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with sales, product, clients, and engineering teams to translate complex AI concepts into accessible narratives
- Strong organizational skills
We'd love to see
A good understanding of financial markets, instruments, and products
Experience engaging with external partners, including vendors and the open-source community
Exposure to Bloomberg Terminal and/or enterprise data products
Prior experience in leading educational initiatives or knowledge-sharing programs within large organizations
