JOB SUMMARY
Cybertrol Engineering creates and delivers custom-engineered automation hardware and software solutions to manufacturing customers throughout the upper Midwest and around the world. The mission of Cybertrol’s Industrial IT Group (IIT) is to provide the server, network, and software infrastructure upon which world-class manufacturing automation and information systems are built. The Associate Industrial Network Engineer will be responsible for several different tasks to accomplish IIT’s mission including, but not limited to, the setup and installation of virtualized micro-datacenters, the design and deployment of plant-wide industrial networks, and the configuration of software for handling concerns such as thin client management, backups, cybersecurity, and dev-ops pipelines.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Work within cross-functional teams including Machine/Manufacturing Process Automation, Hardware Design, and Manufacturing Intelligence engineers to deliver comprehensive projects
- Work directly with Cybertrol’s customers to define IIT-related project requirements and design solutions to their problems
- Communicate effectively with project team members for status, deliverables, and technical needs
- Manage configuration and commissioning of micro-datacenter hardware and network equipment
- Manage configuration and commissioning of virtual environments
- Design and deploy industrial networks
- Perform site operational technology assessments, develop site assessment reports, and provide recommendations for improvement
- Create system documentation for both internal and external audiences
- Provide customer support and communications
- Complete site commissioning start-ups
- Participate in sales activities including customer visits and trade shows
- Comply with and contribute to the advancement of the Information Systems (IS) Department’s internal standards
- Contribute to company-wide initiatives
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other IT-related field and 2+ years of professional experience or2+ years of directly relevant professional experience
- Experience working with VMware vSphere, Cisco networking hardware, and Windows Server OS
DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Relevant experience within an industrial/manufacturing environment
- Associate or higher-level certifications held with VMware, Cisco, Windows Server, cybersecurity, and industrial hardware/software
- Familiarity and comfortable with Agile/Scrum

Up to 40% travel may be required. This travel includes performing technical visits at manufacturing facilities, attending tradeshows, and other company events where attendance is required. A valid driver’s license is required.

Office Work:
- Office desk/cubicle environment
- Extensive computer use
- Occasional Control panel IO powered checkouts in panel shop or customer site
Site Work:
- Up to 40% travel to industrial manufacturing facilities. Typical locations are in North America. Rarely travel to other continents.
- Overnight travel from a few days to several days at a time. Travel duration rarely exceeds seven days in a row.
- Ability to consistently lift 50 lbs.
On-Site working conditions may include:
Typical Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) Required: Safety Glasses, Steel Toed shoes, hearing protection, and electrical safety PPE. Employees must comply with customer specific requirements and PPE.
Work may include working weekends, holidays, nightshift, and extended hours to meet deadlines and commissioning requirements. Occasionally on-site work can be 12+ hours/day.
