Position: Application Engineer

Job Overview:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Application Engineer with a strong background in PHP and JavaScript to join our technical team. This role focuses on delivering a streamlined user experience for our compliance management platform. As a PHP lead, you will be responsible for designing and architecting key roadmap features, contributing to the platform's codebase, and managing our AWS cloud infrastructure and the services critical to our SaaS production environment. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the platform's scalability, reliability, and security while meeting customer needs effectively.
Your responsibilities:
Platform Development: Design, develop, and maintain features for our compliance management platform, focusing on delivering an exceptional user experience using PHP and JavaScript.
Architecture and Roadmap: Take ownership of the design and architecture of key roadmap initiatives, ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability.
AWS Cloud Infrastructure: Oversee the architecture, deployment, and management of AWS cloud infrastructure and cloud services supporting our production SaaS platform.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, UX/UI designers, and other developers, to align on project goals and deliverables.
Customization and Support: Assist clients with software customization, integration, and deployment, ensuring a seamless implementation experience.
Testing and Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous testing of new and existing features to ensure quality, functionality, and adherence to compliance requirements.
Documentation and Best Practices: Develop and maintain technical documentation, coding standards, and best practices for internal and external stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and enhance the platform's performance and usability.
Platform Development: Lead the design and development of new features for the compliance management platform, ensuring high performance and scalability. Write, test, and maintain clean and efficient code using PHP (Laravel or Symfony) and JavaScript (React, Vue.js, or Angular). Collaborate with UX/UI designers to implement intuitive and effective user interfaces.
Technical Leadership: Own the architecture of key roadmap initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical best practices. Review and enhance the platform's existing codebase to optimize performance and maintainability. Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior developers on the team.
Collaboration & Innovation: Work closely with product managers and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specifications. Research and implement emerging technologies to enhance platform capabilities, particularly in compliance management. Contribute to ongoing discussions around platform security and compliance, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards like NIST 800-171 and CMMC. Oversee and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our production SaaS platform.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years of professional experience in PHP and JavaScript development; experience in SaaS platforms preferred.
- Strong understanding of web development frameworks, APIs, and front-end technologies such as React, Vue.js, or similar.
- Hands-on experience managing AWS services (e.g., EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, CloudFormation).
- Proficiency with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and writing efficient queries.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and version control systems like Git.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a focus on delivering quality solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with compliance management platforms or cybersecurity standards (e.g., NIST 800-171, CMMC).
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or similar containerization tools.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Strong understanding of data security principles and best practices in SaaS environments.
