Position purpose
Life Safety Services Technicians inspect, install and repair passive fire products and provide services that deliver solutions that give our customers peace of mind.
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks
- Testing the operability of fire & smoke dampers per NFPA code
- Testing of fire and smoke doors per NFPA Code
- Making non-accessible dampers accessible
- Inspection of firewalls per NFPA code
- Providing accurate documentation for customer code compliance
- Maintain professional, timely, communication with customers
- Attend Job Training Activities
Qualifications
- Valid Driver License
- 21 years of age (insurance reason)
- Pass background & drug test
- Travel –10 days gone, 4 day- home rotation
- Must provide own tools
- Professional appearance
Minimum Requirements
- Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision
- Interact professionally with other employees, customers and suppliers
- Work effectively as a team contribution all assignments
- Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations
- Experience in customer service and working with the public
- Experience in mechanical, HVAC, electrical repair and installation preferred, but not required
- Experience in carpentry, drywall, and insulation knowledge a plus
- Experience in fire stopping methodology helpful
- Ability to interpret life safety drawings
- Must have ability to work in a variety of circumstances including climbing ladders,scaffolds and high-lift equipment with maximum load of 250 lbs
- Must be able to work in ducts, crawl spaces and above ceilings that all have limited space
- Good record-keeping and tracking of inspections in facilities
- Knowledge of computers (Word, Excel and Email)
