Job Description:
The Lead Systems Engineer is responsible for leading technical functions for large complex IT systems, including integration and management of ERP platforms and cloud environments. This involves overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex network systems. These systems can include servers, routers, switches, firewalls, and other devices that enable data communication and security.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in systems engineering, particularly with ERP and cloud technologies. They should be innovative, capable of working under pressure, and have strong communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Responsibilities:
- Lead technical functions for large IT systems.
- Integrate ERP systems in a cloud environment.
- Ensure compliance with DoD Risk Management Framework Accreditation.
- Speaking to and collaborating with a variety of people, such as clients, vendors, management and information technology (IT) staff during the creation and maintenance of a system.
- Creating control features to ensure systems effectively meet the organization’s quality standards.
- Engaging in quality control procedures to ensure that systems are efficient and operational.
- Developing a cost-efficient system for projects by performing a cost-benefit analysis.
- Ensuring that an organization is operating at maximum efficiency, from manufacturing to distribution.
- Work to improve the stability and security of the company cloud and on-premises networks.
Qualifications:
- Background in management information systems, computer science/engineering, or systems engineering.
- Experience with ERP platforms and cloud integration.
- Extensive experience with DoD Risk Management Framework Accreditation.
- Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting UNIX /Linux based environments.
- Solid experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks (e.g.,Tomcat, JBoss, Apache, Ruby, NGINX)
- Solid Cloud experience, preferably in AWS
- Experience with virtualization and containerization (e.g., VMware, Virtual Box)
- Experience with monitoring systems
- Experience with automation software (e.g., Puppet, cfengine, Chef)
- Solid scripting skills (e.g., shell scripts, Perl, Ruby, Python)
- Solid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)
