Position Summary:

This position will be the main point of contact on site in Lancaster, SC to support the Lancaster team as well as provide additional support to Warn HQ virtually. The Jr. Systems Administrator will Maintain, update, and secure the technical infrastructure at the company location. Purchase IT related hardware within limits set by the IT Operations Manager & Finance. Assist in documenting and creating IT processes and infrastructure. Provides support to the IT Help Desk personnel, as needed. Accountable for Sarbanes – Oxley compliance in assigned areas. Manages software and hardware components used by the applications systems to meet business needs.
Essential Functions:
- Working with other Systems Engineers/Administrators to act as a System Administrator for the company infrastructure helping to keep it maintained, updated, and secure.
- Purchasing IT-related hardware up to limits set by IT Operations Manager and Finance.
- Helping to document IT processes and infrastructure
- Helping IT help desk personnel as needed.
- Assisting users from help desk tickets.
- Working on IT infrastructure projects.
- Being accountable for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance in assigned area.
This position may also include but is not limited to:
- Assisting with the maintenance of on-site appliances, switches, firewalls, and physical IT server infrastructure where applicable.
- Performing basic configuration and maintenance tasks on network infrastructure including, but not limited to, Cisco switches, Ruckus Wi-Fi infrastructure, and Zscaler Cloud Security.
- Working with IT Operations Manager, Systems Engineers/Administrators, and other IT Team members to ensure technical infrastructure meets the needs of the production environment and future applications.
- Making recommendations on new products and services to the IT Operations Manager.
- Helping with DevOps tasks in tools/environments such as JDE, RFSmart, Docker, AWS, Azure, or Google.
- Troubleshooting users issues, like malfunctioning hardware or software, password resets, and access issues
Availability Requirements
Due to the nature and scope of the essential functions of this position, the importance of personal interactions with coworkers, the availability of job-related tools, equipment and resources, this position requires regular, consistent availability, accessibility, and presence on-site and after-hours.
The required number of hours per week will vary depending on what is required to efficiently perform the job duties of this position. This position will require availability and accessibility to respond to and address emergencies and critical situations outside of normal business operating hours in the early mornings, evenings and/or during weekends.
Required Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor of Science degree in computer science or related field, or experience equivalent to a degree.
- Certifications such as CCNA or appropriate Microsoft certifications desired.
- 3+ years of experience in related work in information technology operations.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience with Network Management Systems (LAN/WAN), TCP/IP and VPN technologies. Working knowledge of network topology and protocols.
- In-depth knowledge of scripting and automating procedures/tasks as well as installing software upgrades and security patches.
- Must have solid working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS.
- In-depth knowledge of PC and Server hardware; operating systems such as Windows 7/10/11 and Server 2012 – 2022; and management of them with tools such as SCCM. Functional knowledge of Linux and SQL Server.
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft cloud tools such as Azure, Entra, and O365. As well as functional knowledge of AWS.
- Knowledge of VMWare vSphere, data backup/restore products such as CloudBerry or Veeam, telephony (Mitel), Firewalls, and switches (Cisco).
- Knowledge of tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Client-side software troubleshooting knowledge of apps such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, JD Edwards.
- Cellular phone knowledge and troubleshooting
- Strong oral and written communication skills consistent with the job tasks and position necessary to communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external customers while providing exceptional quality of work and outstanding customer service. Ability to present information in a manner designed to educate or inform other team members and customers in one-on-one or group interactions as directed.
- Technical skills and knowledge including competency in solving a wide variety of computer software/hardware issues, with ability to quickly learn additional skills, functions and knowledge.
- Ability to create, review, comprehend, interpret, process and evaluate documents written at the highest levels in English, in conjunction with the performance of the essential functions and other assigned job duties. Ability to explain technical concepts in easily understood terms for users. Must have mathematical skills
