Required Experience, Education, Skills & Technologies
- US Citizenship (no dual citizenship)
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Security or related technical discipline OR four (4) years professional IT experience may be used in lieu of degree.
- Active Department of Energy (DOE) “Q” Clearance OR Top Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain required clearance. Candidate can work while clearance is underway.
- Three (3) years of IT work enterprise experience with a preference in the job duties above
- Familiarity with configuration management using Ansible
- Knowledge in troubleshooting Linux and Ansible Automation Best Practices
- Skilled in Linux-related scripting (Bash, Perl, Python, etc.)
- Experience with Apache web server configuration and management
- Experience analyzing and evaluating the security of new and existing IT systems and the procedures to protect information system assets from intentional or inadvertent modification, disclosure, or destruction.
- Experience analyzing and evaluating the design and operating effectiveness of Information technology and security controls that are in place.
- Knowledge and understanding of operating systems, networks and services.
- Knowledge of Red Hat version 7, 8, and 9 (rhel7/rhel8/rhel9) with the ability to engineer, install, administer, upgrade, and maintain.
- Experience evaluating security solutions to ensure they meet security requirements for processing classified information.
- Manage changes to system and assesses the security impact of those changes.
- Experience and/or familiarity with the following network protection devices: Firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS), log analysis, malware analysis, network traffic flow and packet analysis
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of best practices, trends related to information security
- Strong research, analytical, and problem solving skills
- Good communication skills including preparing and presenting results, findings and alternatives and influencing management decision making based on the best

Pay Rate
- The projected compensation range for this position is $85,000 - $100,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Criterion Systems considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
