Job Description Primary Responsibilities:
• Ingest high level and detailed requirements from stakeholders (application developers, product vendors, project managers) and translate into high level and detailed infrastructure designs for servers, storage, middleware and/or data base systems
• Provide architectural best practice to design systems to be resilient, highly available and operate at high performance in line with overall business criticality and risk
• Document designs in a concise format following prescribed LPL nomenclature and artifacts. Provide detail granularity on key design aspects
• Develop new standards and catalog based re-usable design standards to expedite project solution and eliminate manual design efforts wherever possible
• Based on designs, open tickets / service requests for build and operations teams to develop and build servers.
• Provide consultative support to build teams as needed to answer design questions.
• Interacts with stakeholders to provide a single status point.
Skills and Experience:
• Intermediate technical writing capabilities with attention to detail
Technical domain design expertise in the following areas:
• Networking - Basic Routing, load balancing, firewall (port requirements)
• Server configuration (Wintel / x86 Linux) - Memory allocation, CPU allocation and subscription, storage / lun configuration and storage tier requirements
• Network OS and naming - Active Directory, GPO, DNS
• Security hardening and leading practices - Network, Server, SSL
• Knowledge of application architectures (micro-services, SOA) and database architectures a plus
• Experience with DataPower, Tibco, LifeRay, MuleSoft, Appway a plus
Demonstrated experience:
• Working in fact paced dynamic delivery environment
• Working within both waterfall and agile methodologies delivering infrastructure support
• Working in a mixed delivery environment with on-site, remote, and offshore resources
• Part of change advisory board / change review processes
• Ability to manage several delegated tasks (tickets) and provides updates to customers in consistent manner
• Developing technical diagrams (visio, PPT) and architecture diagrams
• Process / workflow diagramming experience a plus
