Qualifications:
Requires expert technical knowledge and skills of the installation, support, and maintenance of SAN, NAS, tape library infrastructure and associated software products. For SAN and NAS focused support, individual must have expert knowledge and experience in the following storage platforms including but not limited to EMC, IBM, Hitachi, Cisco, and Brocade storage and switches. Must have expert knowledge of fiber channel and TCP/IP protocols, SAN management software, automation, and resource management. For backup/recover focused support, individual must have expert experience with tape library hardware and one of the three major backup software’s including Tivoli Storage Manager, Veritas Net Backup and Legato. In addition, individual must have supported cross site contingency recovery implementation. Extensive knowledge of a multi-tiered distributed architecture, including LAN/WAN concepts, TCP/IP, DNS and firewalls is required. Programming skills and advanced scripting capabilities are desirable. Must have demonstrated experience in providing excellent customer service and an aptitude to work directly with business partners to deliver quality solutions on schedule. Must have the ability to convey ideas and concepts to others in order to be influential in determining preferred solutions. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
The success of Production Operations is directly linked to thorough, timely, complete communications. Communications must include details regarding production support issues, potential problems and remediation's and the thorough exchange of ideas and information, amongst staff and effected parties, regarding any planned changes and the impact that may result which could have an effect on customers. Fluent communications, both written and oral, are critical elements to successful production support. Must be able to perform routine tasks on a regular basis without prompting. Must have good organizational skills and the ability to work under limited direction. Must have the ability to independently perform in-depth technical research Must be able to work and perform equally well when working independently, in teams or as part of a larger coordinated workgroup. Must be a self starter and be motivated and able to meet objectives with little outside oversight or intervention when necessary.
Education / Experience:
College degree, preferably in Computer Science or Information Systems
7+ years IT experience
2+ years in senior or lead technical positions,
3+ year working in medium to large data centers and enterprise environment in support of storage
or
Equivalent combination of education and job-related experience equal to 8 - 10 years.
Responsibilities:
This is a senior level position into engineering and production support of the distributed storage and backup services. The storage and backup provides critical infrastructure services to business functions and mission critical financial applications. It comprises enterprise multi-platform environments that require disciplines following ITIL methodologies. Storage and backup senior engineer provides engineering and support of storage (SAN and NAS) and backup (TSM backup and recovery) services and management. This includes engineering for effective and efficient storage/backup provisioning, configuration, and management to optimize storage services to business, ensure security and controls. Senior engineer works with minimum supervision, conduct technology research, recommends solutions and designs, and provides technical direction and mentoring to advanced level and junior staff. Successful support requires authoritative subject matter expertise in storage services and broad experience of IT technology including inter networking protocols, encryption, security, firewalls, operating systems, database and application. In addition, a strong, in-depth appreciation of business operations and processes is required.

We prefer the primary location be in East Rutherford or Dallas. We prefer the candidate to have Hitachi Universal Replicator (HUR) experience. A high level of communication is required of this position like verbal and writing skills
