Softrim is a leading technology services provider with Managed IT and Low Voltage offerings. We have offices in Alpharetta GA, Raleigh NC, and Estero FL with a national client base. We are looking for an experienced candidate to join our Information Services division and lead all aspects of IT as a senior network engineer.
Responsibilities:
- Advanced support of network infrastructure (e.g., Ubiquiti, Meraki, Cambium, Aruba, AeroHive, Ruckus, Cisco Catalyst), WAN, LAN, and Firewalls (e.g., SonicWall, Fortigate, Meraki, Palo Alto)
- Implement and support network technologies, principles, and protocols including RSTP, VLANs, ISPs LAG, LACP, Multipath, IGMP, QoS, etc.
- Plan, implement and support various Wi-Fi authentication methods including: Private WLANs using xPSK (iPSK, ePSK, DPSK) and sometimes Radius
- Onboard and monitor client networks in Auvik NMS
- Wi-Fi Optimization, Design, and Analysis using Ekahau
- Troubleshoot and resolve Tier 3 technical support issues and act as the primary and final escalation point
- Troubleshoot network connectivity and work with wireless controllers, access points, routers, firewalls, and network switches
- Design, implement, maintain, and support all wireless and wireline network connectivity systems
- Solution design and implementation of new technologies for clients to meet the business requirements
- Maximize up time through preventive and proactive maintenance and support as needed
- Participate in weekly change advisory board meetings
- Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, changes, and procedures
- Collaborate with team members and engineers/senior engineers to resolve complex issues
- Maintain an open line of communication regarding events, outstanding issues, and customer follow-up and inform management of critical issues
- Accurately record all time and notes for work performed
- Document all work performed in the ticketing system (ConnectWise)
- Maximize billable status for work performed
Requirements:
- At least 7 years of working experience designing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting various technology environments
- Extensive experience in networking, firewall, routing, and switching
- Experienced in: TCP/IP, WANs, ISPs, DNS, NAT/PAT, QoS, VLANs, RSTP, PoE, etc.
- MSP Experience Preferred
- Some travel to customer sites (approx. 10%)
- Strong customer service and active listening skills
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Strong interpersonal and client management skills are a must
- Ability to handle client interactions professionally and respectfully
- Highly motivated and organized with an attention to detail and a passion for computers
Employment Terms:
Full-time, Exempt, Salary. Eligible for benefits (medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, disability) and 401(k) after introductory period. Typical business hours are from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. with a lunch break, Monday thru Friday, excluding company-observed holidays. After-hours work may be required.
