What’s in Store
We're on the lookout for a Technical Team Lead. As a Technical Team Lead you will design, support, and maintain the IT infrastructure and directly contribute to the enterprise strategy. This position will lead a team of IT professionals to implement new IT systems, manage the IT infrastructure including computer and information systems, security, and communication systems. You will work closely with your team providing technical coaching, and help identifying and understanding the technical roadblocks and find ways to mitigate them to meet business needs. The Technical Team Lead reports to the Director, North America IT Operations.
Leading Operational Support:
- Leads the day-to-day operational support for
- Servers and roles (Physical servers, Virtual servers, Active Directory, Sites and Services, DNS, DHCP, FSMO Roles, RDS servers, File servers)
- Networks (Firewalls, Switches, Routers, Access Points, LAN, WAN and Wireless connectivity)
- Virtualization (VMware/ESX, vSphere, vCenter, Hyper-V, Hyper-V Manager, Storage, Networking, vMotion, Backups, HA, DR, Optimization, Security, and Maintenance.
- Patch Management
- Access management
- Backups
- Network printing
- Storage
- Monitoring / Alerting
- Network security
- Documentation.
- Change and Incident Management.
- Assist your team with technical escalations in all aspects of IT infrastructure and helpdesk services.
- Guide your team in the right direction to work in and ensure they stay on track to be successful.
- Identify the technical knowledge gaps within your team and coach them.
- Plan technical training sessions and conduct them yourself if necessary.
Ensure a maintenance plan is in place with defined scope and schedules and followed through including system’s software and hardware patching and upgrades. - Oversee patching and ensure all activities are reported post patching.
Ensure required backups are configured and in place of all business-critical servers, data and network configs. - Ensure backups reports are monitored daily, and any failures are addressed.
- Perform weekly or monthly backups tests (VM restore, data restore)
Ensure network configs are backed up on a monthly basis. - Schedule quarterly WAN failover tests
- Lead in planning and implementing changes to infrastructure with the goal of enhancing performance.
- Ensure that your team follows ITIL’s best practices for Change Management (M/A/C), and incident management
- Lead major incidents to resolutions.
- Perform and document root cause analysis with incident report.
- Lead infrastructure projects.
- Lead planning sessions for projects with all stakeholders and internal clients.
- Oversee implementation and provide technical guidance to IT Ops team where needed to ensure success.
- Report post projects.
- Ensure EDR / Antivirus reports are monitored daily and all concerns are addressed.
- Lead and assist IT Ops execute yearly DR testing
- Ensure the environment stays stable and DR ready at all times.
- Assist management with yearly infrastructure and SOC audits.
- Ensure team provides all required data, reports and evidence within the required timeframe.
- Ensure licensing for all systems stays up to date and renewed when needed.
- Work with business teams, vendors, consultants, contractors and IT personnel from other divisions and departments as needed to meet business needs.
- Document SOPs and troubleshooting procedures related to systems, networks, software and hardware.
- Ensure knowledge base stays up to date with latest creds, changes, and SOPs
This role is a full-time, On Site position in Springfield, MA with some travel.
Your Expertise, Skills, and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent work experience.
- Microsoft Certifications and/or any other IT related certifications are a plus.
- A+, Network+, Microsoft MCSE, Citrix, Cisco CCNA, CCNP/CCIE, Microsoft Hyper-V. VMware VCP.
- 5 to 10 years’ experience in IT infrastructure services
- Insurance industry experience preferred (not required)
