What we need:
Mohawk is looking for a Senior Linux Administrator who can do more for all Mohawk brands across residential, distributor, and builder multifamily divisions.
The primary objective of this position is to design and deploy the next generation IT Red Hat infrastructure while maintaining and optimizing the existing enterprise IT infrastructure. This person will also ensure ongoing reliability, performance, and support of the Red Hat infrastructure and support the development of new strategies and system requirements across the organization.
What you’ll do:
- Install, configure, tune, and maintain RHEL in accordance with industry and organizational standards to meet production requirements and align with security and compliance standards.
- In-depth technical knowledge about configuring and implementing the best practices RHEL for SAP/HANA and Oracle ERP/RAC.
- Deploy virtual environments for SAP HANA and Oracle RAC workloads according to the vendor's best practices.
- Expertise in deploying optimized virtual environments for database builds such as SAP/HANA and Oracle.
- Strong technical ability to manage orchestration aspects through shell scripts and Ansible.
- Experience in maintaining Red Hat Satellite.
- Work with vendors to ensure maintenance coverage for all relevant servers and equipment.
- Utilize tools for continuous system monitoring of system resource utilization.
- Lead Linux server hardening efforts as per standards and be a point of contact for audit items.
- System maintenance including patching, upgrades, operating system fix installs, operating system upgrades, and reboots.
- Responsible for configuration of patch management tool (satellite etc.) and scheduling patch install, server reboots, etc.
- Experience with developing Disaster Recovery strategies and working with other teams within the organization and external teams to execute scheduled DR tests.
- Review and recommend alternative technologies and improvements to enhance information systems to support organizational goals and present them to senior management.
- Excellent team player and mentors other team members as required. Help other team members to succeed.
- Create documentation (like run books) for the developed procedures and best practices.
- Participate in troubleshooting and recovery efforts during outages or complex issues including but not limited to performance, functionality issues, etc.
- Handle tasks/projects independently and complete them within given timelines.
- Participate in on-call rotation as needed and address issues during off hours.
What you have:
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical, and/or related field required
- At least 6+ years of experience in system engineering and management.
- RHCSA required, RHCE preferred.
- Expertise in multiple versions of RHEL (ie.6,7,8).
- Expertise in configuring RHEL as per SAP/HANA standards.
- Expertise in configuring RHEL as per Oracle ERP/RAC standards.
- Experience with Red Hat Satellite and Ansible Tower.
- Experience with supporting Linux VMs running in a VMWare environment.
- Practical experience with OS operation, upgrades, and security patching
- Networking experience with the suite of TCP/IP, IP routing, NAT, firewalls
- Experience with network services like DNS and LDAP and HTTP proxies
- Good understanding of IT security, OS hardening
- Experience in script programming (e.g., Shell, Perl, Python, Go, etc.) and with server automation tools (e.g., Ansible, CHEF)
