DescriptionOracle Cloud VMware Solution provides a customer-managed, native VMware-based cloud environment, installed within a customer’s tenancy. It offers complete control using familiar VMware tools. Customers can move or extend VMware-based workloads to the Oracle cloud without rearchitecting applications or retooling operations. As a Solution Engineer specializing in Oracle Cloud VMware solution, you will be working with customers to run their VMware workloads in the Oracle Cloud.
ResponsibilitiesThe ideal candidate will have hands-on technical skills with VMware technologies such as vSphere, NSX, HCX, and vSAN as well as a strong understanding of on premises technologies. The qualified candidate will have excellent presentation skills and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand presentations, demonstrations, and architectures. Above all, you will have a passion for learning and sharing it with a wider audience.
Primary Responsibilities
- Understand customers business and technical challenges, then work with them to architect an Oracle Cloud VMware Solution to successfully onboard them on to the platform.
- Stay informed on improvements and features in the platform to help adoption and accelerate platform evolution by providing feedback from the field.
- Stay current on and identify industry trends and new solutions in the broader technical community that are applicable to the Oracle Cloud domain.
- Create collateral such as blogs, whitepapers, videos and workshops to enable our customers and partners on OCVS.
Qualifications / Required Skills
- Hands-on experience with VMware technologies such as vSphere, NSX, HCX, and vSAN
- Strong technical domain knowledge in one or more of the following core infrastructure services: compute, storage, networking, identity, and security
- Experience in deploying, and operating infrastructure and/or cloud solutions
- Experience in delivering presentations combining technical and business outcomes
- Strong practical application development experience on Linux and Windows-based systems
- VMware professional level certification or equivalent experience
- Experience working with sales counterparts on lifecycle of a solution (pre-sales to post-sales)
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud highly desired
- Self-motivated, team-oriented, and focused on exceeding customer expectations
