About this Opportunity:
As a Senior Cloud Data Engineer, you will have the opportunity to join our innovative Cloud Data Team, where we lead the charge in maintaining a robust real-time data streaming platform and managing diverse data targets within AWS, including Redshift, DynamoDB, and OpenSearch. Our platform, architected and built on top of Apache Kafka, replicates nearly 1 billion events daily from thousands of SQL Server databases to multiple cloud data stores, ensuring optimal performance with low latency and high throughput.
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Data Engineer to play a key role in maintaining and monitoring our real-time data streaming platform, integrating new datasets, enhancing features, managing data targets, and crafting complex data queries to fulfill customer needs. This role demands a solid understanding of data engineering, cloud technologies, and large-scale data environments. As we continue to evolve and live our Orion values, we are looking for someone to grow with us.

Candidates must work in-office at one of the following locations for at least 3 days per week: Omaha, NE; Sacramento, CA; Hebron, KY

In this role, you'll get to:
Maintain and monitor our data streaming platform to ensure performance, reliability, and data quality.
Collaborate with other teams to integrate new datasets.
Implement new platform features and tools.
Manage and optimize cloud data targets, ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval.
Develop and refine SQL queries tailored to customer requirements, ensuring data accuracy and efficiency.
We're looking for talent who:
Has solid knowledge in data engineering, with a strong foundation in data architecture and data modeling.
Possesses experience in designing and implementing ETL/ELT data pipelines.
Has proven experience with transactional databases (preferably SQL Server).
Demonstrates a good understanding of transactional databases and how they work (ACID properties, Isolation Levels, Concurrency Control, etc.).
Utilizes advanced SQL skills and is capable of writing and optimizing complex queries.
Has hands-on experience with AWS.
Has competence in programming with C#.
Preferably has experience with Apache Kafka, Redshift or Snowflake and CDC patterns.
Obtains Orion Industry Certification
Owns and manages relationships with stakeholders directly and work effectively with people at all levels in an organization

Salary Range:
$90,784.00 - $140,617.00
The pay listed in this posting indicates the estimated pay at the time of this posting; however, may vary depending on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
